Q: what size is youth medium?

My son is 85 lbs. and 4'10" and these boxer briefs fit him nicely.

Q: What kind of material are they? My 5 year old only wears the dri-fit type and doesn’t like cotton... also will xsmall fit a 5 year old?

I would say they are the breathable spandex type. As for the size. Ours our Youth XL and they are way to big for my son who wears a 10 in jeans. I would think you would need a xs or small for a boy size 5. Just a guess though. Hope this helped
