Jawbreaker pattern is perfect for both your rock den and the kid's nursery
Lots of drum rugs out there (or alternately, cheap rugs, old carpet...), so how to decide? I was very satisfied with the size, quality, and thickness for this price - not super thick, but enough so that the edges stay down and it certainly doesn't feel like a towel. It's low-pile with rubber backing on the entire underside, which stays put on hardwood or concrete, and lets you use the bass drum spurs for some added security. I have it setup with a 5-piece kit with a 22" bass, 16" floor tom, hit-hat + 3 cymbal stands, and there's plenty of room left - could easily add another floor tom and still have by everything (throne included) on the rug. Get this and you won't be disappointed or blow your budget.

Classy.
Very nice, classy. I bought the standard black color, looks great with the black and chrome drum set. So far it stays in place nicely, works great for gigs where the stage is a little slippery. A little pricey for a rug but seems like it will hold up well and look good for quite awhile. The only time it wasn't useful was when we were at a venue with a drum riser; the drum riser dimensions were a little smaller than this rug so we didn't use it because it would have possibly created a trip hazard where the rug was overhanging the riser. Otherwise, its pretty alright!!

This is a great drum rug
This is a great drum rug. I have had it for a couple of months now, and I am very happy with it. High quality material that seems very durable. It also comes with a bag that you can use to transport the rug in. It is also large enough for a double bass kit. I know when I was searching I could not find any pictures of double bass kits set up on this rug, so here are a couple of pictures of my kit set up on it. Happy drumming!

Nice Drum Rug and Office Floor Protector. Play Out In Style.
I bought this to use under drumset and to try out as a replacement for the vinyl office mats that people put under their chairs to protect nice wooden floors. It works well in both cases. It's very lightweight and portable, while the rubber backing keeps it in place on almost any surface. In my home office I have nice teak parquet floors. It helps deaden the room a bit and it works well as a semi-industrial floor protector. And because I have amps, guitars, rack-mounted equipment and keyboards lying around, it fits into the motif (so very important. Huge!). I mentioned it's lightweight and portable: It can roll up and comes with a nice carrying case, so I can stuff it into my trap case and take it with me when I need to play a gig. Lightweight, durable, attractive...what's not to like? Well, there's one thing: It has a little strap attached to the underside which is supposed to be used to keep it rolled up. And that thing doesn't lie flat when the rug is deployed. And I'm a clutz, so I tripped on it every day for two weeks until I found my scissors. Problem solved. Happy days.

Sharp Looking Drum Rug
Great drum rug! Looks real sharp, sufficient space for a 5 piece setup (1 rack tom 2 floor toms). The rug comes with a velcro strap once you've rolled it up and a semi-protective carrying case which isn't too thick but it gets the job done. I worked at a music shop in the Seattle area years ago and sold many drum rugs made by other companies. I certainly wish this was around back then. I'm very happy with my purchase. Well done Meinl!

Quality does not meet the premium price.
Carpet is tearing up/fraying badly after removing kick pedals attatched by velcro the first time. This will not stand up to gigging and is 7x more expensive than a generic rug from walmart. Only good things are the size, it just barely fits my 5 piece with double kick if I set it up sideways (however floor tom and cymbals may not entirely fit) and the ability to to roll and fold it up to stuff it in my trunk or hardware bag which is great compared to your average rug that tends to be really stiff and more rectangular shape rather than the square shape of this one.

Finally a huge one but with an important feature
I have the next size down also but if you have a monster kit with a rack, this is the one for you. I couldn't tell but I suspected from the pictures that this is two 78"x39" rugs joined by a strip of nylon stitched between them. THIS IS IMPORTANT because with this size, you can fold it in half on the seam and roll it up and it fits in a 40" duffel bag. There is one on amazon for $20. It does not come with a travel bag. I'll check out the durability of the seam in the middle and update later.
