She is a nurse treating COVID-19 patients, so she is concerned that she could be exposed to the virus at some point. She wanted this because one of the earlier signs of being positive for COVID-19 is apparently having low SpO2 so this is simply a tool to help her check herself or me for possible early signs of the virus. She was quite happy with the little sensor, as the display auto-rotates depending on how you are holding it. This simply means you won't be having to try and read it upside-down if you have it on one hand opposed to the other. Another thing she was quite impressed with is that the display also shows the waveform of the pulse. According to her, this is useful as it can show if it is getting a good reading or not. Because the display is so small, the waveform isn't all that precise, but it is good enough for her to use it to improve readings. Also it is worth noting that while this obviously works on both my and my wife's fingers, we found it also works on our children's fingers (age 2 and 4). I have seen pulse-ox sensors specifically for children and while that might be more necessary for someone using it more often, this larger sensor works just fine for their smaller fingers, as long as they hold still and have their hand/finger resting on a table for stability. Results for them also look accurate so that was a very nice surprise. In these crazy times it seems having one of these in your first aid kit might be a good idea and the fact that they are inexpensive makes it a no-brainer.

This was easy to use, and very accurate when comparing to my Drs pulse oximeter. You do NEED warm hands or the pulse oxygen will be off, but this is standard with these devices. It comes with a carrying case and batteries! Excellent value and functionality.

Literal life saver
I bought this during covid, and haven't had a real use for it until today. This thing probably saved my husbands life. He passed out and was acting out of breath and confused. His bp was lower than usual, he developed a chest rattle, and his oxygen sat was 71%. Emergency took him to the hospital with a suspected blood clot in his lung, most likely due to a sports injury in his ankle. Without seeing his oxygen saturation we probably wouldn't have known this was an emergency.

Very accurate and easy to use.
I compared it to my doctor's pulse oximeter and it was very accurate. I love that it actually shows your heartbeat line instead of just the beats per minute. The screen turns depending on the angle of your hand, so no matter which way it is, you can read it. The screen is a good size to be able to see all the information easily. It is comfortable to wear.
