Vector Thunderbird Butane Dual Flame Torch and Regular Gas Insert

The Thunderbird insert is a great upgrade to the standard Zippo lighter providing a torch and soft flame option - essential if you are a cigar smoker!This is the fourth insert I have bought (several zippo’s) and they come with a lifetime warranty so what more could you ask for!

I have owned several Thunderbird inserts of various kinds and I have a Vector (the manufacturer of Thunderbird) dual-flame that has worked for years.This insert was great for a couple of weeks even though filling it is messy. Tried many makes of gas and nozzles but nothing could fill this without spray and freezing the outside.After a couple of weeks the insert began having issues lighting. Then the soft flame would flash and immediately die out. Now it might light on every 100th attempt, and occasionally do really bad stuff like light the torch and soft simultaneously.Really broken. Hate the fact that Vector makes you ship it and send them $5 for warranty.

This is a 5 star insert mine came in full working condition but if it didnt i would have took it apart to see the problem but it worked good it has a few features that my other insert doesnt have (i have the yusud torch insert) and that is my favorite lighter ever but i seen this one has the switching flames so wanted to give it a try and i got to say im glad i did because its at a tie with my other one now it does have features that are better then my yusud but visa versa the same with my yusud having features this one dont have that make it better its such a hard choice ima just have to keep them both on me lol

I bought this 'cause I liked the idea of a hybrid flame/torch, however the button to activate the Thunderbird is one of the most finicky things I've ever seen. You HAVE to hit it JUST RIGHT, at a certain speed to a certain depth, or the flame won't ignite. Doesn't matter how full of butane it is, this is always the case.I wish I would've bought a Zippo insert, they're cheaper, and I imagine they actually work as advertised.

Defective right out of the package and no way to return unless I send it back to the manufacturer with a check for $12. The tube was sticking out from the moment I opened the package. I believe they do this to get customers to pay double for something they thought was a good deal. Bet if I send it it’ll get “lost in transit” this company is a joke.Also I know the tube needs to connect to the brass piece I tried that but the tube was ripped at the tip so I was careful to cut a tiny amount of the tip to ensure it would still be long enough but it is physically impossible to reconnect. STICK TO ZIPPO BRAND.

Very dangerous lighter the flame comes out from the opening where the tube is that the gas runs through It’s not even do the torch at all like it states be careful buying this product all I can say
