Perfect little Plex server — fast transcoding, barely sips power
Picked this up as a dedicated Plex server and it's been fantastic. Intel Quick Sync handles 4K HDR transcoding effortlessly, including tone-mapping down to 1080p, and it does it drawing a tiny fraction of the power a dedicated graphics card needs for the same work. Setup was painless, it runs cool and quiet, and the 5GbE port and dual M.2 slots give it room to grow. It's been rock solid running 24/7. If you want a small, efficient, always-on media server, this is an easy recommendation.

Good little PC
First, I am not a gamer so... I was pleasantly surprised at how this little PC worked. It was very easy to get started with. Comes with Windows 11. I was able to dual boot SuSe Linux after shrinking the windows partition. It's great for basic tasks like surfing the net, email, watching videos, etc. The actual speed it shows is right around 1800 MHz base. The graphics seem to be fine for both windows and Linux using an inexpensive HDMI TV as monitor. WiFi connection was simple. Boot was quick for both windows and Linux. There's not any fans so there's no noise. At 512 GB there's plenty of storage for OS and an external USB drive would be an easy addition if more storage was needed.

The Little Lunchbox That Could
My gaming laptop ran into some fan troubles that made it unusable during my return to my parents house. At first I thought about buying a casting device for my phone, but then this neat little PC came up for recommendations. After a day or so of research on these types of pcs (and the decent price), I decided to give it a shot. Now let me be clear: I knew from the get-co that this was in no way a “native” gaming, PC nor do I recommend it being used as one (locally anyway). But I did test The Sims 2 Legacy and other retro games, something like that is okay. That all being said, using this lunchbox as a “Cloud-gaming” gaming PC is absolutely perfect in my experience! For AAA games (most games in general really) this is the way to go for this device. Wi-Fi connection is pretty darn good for me so I can’t complain. I’ve tested Xbox CloudGaming, GeForce Now and PlaystationPlus so far. Xbox and GeForce run really solid, while PlayStation is a hit or miss. There’s also another cloud provider called ShadowPC but I didn’t get to try it (may update this when I do). Speed wise, shockingly good for its size. I have it connected with my 34” 175hz monitor and am able to run 99hz. Not bad from what I expected. Style wise, I can’t lie…it’s so gosh darn adorable and matches my old pink desk setup. I remember my mom seeing it for the first time and saying “That little thing is a Computer?!” Haha. Its size and low power/fan makes it feel as if there’s no electronic device near the desk. Usually loud fans from consoles or gaming pcs are something my parents are used to, so this little lunchbox really threw a curveball at their expectations when I said I was ordering a new PC. I’m probably going to leave it with my parents as it’s a great media PC and a handy one for Cloud gaming in case I want to leave my gaming laptop at home.

Does what you want, little to no heat, fast as you'd expect.
I got this to use as a stand-in for PC's in my business which go down. However, they work so well (and tested so well) that I decided to replace my big PC's with this unit. PROS FAST - Like, I can't believe it fast. There are some small delays in big big activities, but the benchmarks are amazing. PROS Size, obviously. These things are small, take no space and won't break a sweat if you're hauling them up six flights of stairs. Size doesn't hurt the speed or cooling abilities. Unit never got warm testing in my office under load. CONS I wish it was USB powered is probably the biggest one. Most of our laptops are now USB-C powered, and I would love it if this followed suit. I am not fond of proprietary power units you must special order if they go out. I'd much rather be able to port a USB-C cable over to the unit. OVERALL Great machine, I wouldn't try to game off of it, but it has handled excel files, everything browser, watches movies just fine - looks to really be a well put together unit. I will report back after the Missouri summer gets here.

A useful small PC for Windows or Linux
I bought this mini PC because it has two 2.5Gbs Ethernet ports so I can use it as a small router or media streaming box. It came with WIndows 11 Pro but I tested it with MX Linux and it worked well with that also. I actually downloaded the windows drivers and created an Install of Atlas OS (atlasos.net) on a USB drive and installed this, Atlas OS allows you to install a version of Windows removing all the crap Microsoft puts in their OS now-a-days; like defender and all the data it send to Microsoft to track you etc. I then installed Winhance and Explorer patcher to remove further crap like Edge and XBox etc. and to make it work like Windows 10 since I hate the Windows 11 menus etc. This worked well and now I have a useful de-microsofted version of windows so they can't track me using a local account etc. Very pleased with this...

Perfect Home Lab Server
Great so far. Run NextCloud, HA, Frigate (saving to external drive), and Omada Network Controller through Proxmox and still have plenty of headroom. Boots after power failure without issue. Perfect little Home Lab server, runs incredibly quiet and low power.

Surprisingly good
This is a pretty amazing little computer! Although it's tiny and therefore very portable, you obviously need a monitor and keyboard/mouse to go with it. We thought we'd try this as a replacement for the little Lenovo laptop that we've had anchored to a desk for most of it's life anyway, as that laptop isn't upgradable to Win11. This one comes with Win11 Pro, so it should be good for the foreseeable future. It is surprisingly much faster than our little laptop, and has been flawless so far. Getting it up and running was easy, and for routine web browsing and light duty work it barely gets even warm. It easily handles Office Pro applications, and I've even successfully run an architectural CAD program on it. It takes a few seconds or so to render and while I prefer running this software on a computer with a little more horsepower, it's certainly doable. It has also easily handled some photographic image editing. I have not tried video editing or gaming, and my guess is it'll struggle more with these, but assuming you have reasonable expectations it's definitely worth the price paid. Hopefully it holds up as long as the several older laptops I have that are about to be retired with Win10. Two of those started life with Win7 and have been going for years. Time will tell.

Tiny yet fully functioning Windows 11 PC - with a couple of caveats
First the good - There are several product reviews here and elsewhere so this will come as no surprise but this thing is TINY. My old NUC 7i5 seems like Goliath in comparison, and I used to think that it was David. The PC booted right up and the seller provided detailed instructions on initial setup without connecting to the internet, followed by restart and connecting to the internet to get updates. Setup went without a hitch. A full virus scan showed that it was clean and free of threats. The BIOS is the newer one (dated 5/21/2024) and allows setting the fan to its highest 5000+ rpm (was at "adaptive" out of the box - the fan is very quiet even at full), setting the GPU to its highest at 1200MHz (was at 900MHz out of the box), and setting the power draw at 15W (was at 12W out of the box). Works quite well and handles word documents, powerpoint presentations, excel spreadsheets, youtube videos and browsing with ease. The temps on the CPU and GPU are quite reasonable (~39C idle and ~50C with multiple browser windows open and streaming a 4K UHD movie. I'm not a gamer, so I can't attest to that aspect, but I suspect it will handle older games just fine. Now the bad - Packing left a lot to be desired. No bubble wrap around the box - just the GMKtec miniPC product box in a brown envelope. The carrier (UPS) was not gentle with the package but thankfully the mini pc was unharmed during transit to me. Also, this appears to a documented issue, but on this particular machine, one (the one on the front further away from the power button) of the USB ports just does not work. It does not recognize anything plugged into it (wired or wireless keyboards, mice, flash drives etc.). This despite setting the power draw to 15W. The other two USB ports work fine. Given that there are only three USB ports on this mini pc, if you use a wired keyboard and a wired mouse, you won't have any available USB ports to plug in flash drives or other devices. You will be forced to buy a USB hub. It isn't a major issue for me, particularly given the price, but I wish GMKtec would address this recurring issue on this particular model once and for all. As a home PC for everyday tasks this is a good bargain and if GMKtec would address the lack of better (bubble wrap around the box) packaging during shipping and the non-functional USB port, it would be a GREAT bargain. Four stars because of these two issues.

Amazing mini PC and arrived the next day!
Amazing mini PC- functions well, arrived one day after ordering. Please USB cabled keyboard and mouse for setup purposes. No issues experienced thus far and simpler to carry around compared to a laptop (just need to bring the keyboard, mouse and a portable monitor (of any size of your choosing). Seller is awesome and sent a separate mouse pad, keychain and thank you note which is highly appreciated. Just wished that this mini PC had a full function USB C port for connecting my Acer dual monitor.
