Merriam Webster's French-English Dictionary

This reasonably priced two-directional dictionary has clear definitions and is quite adequate for basic translation. It is good for the beginner and intermediate learner but may not reach into more specialised meanings. It also has a helpful pronunciation guide and plenty of grammar. The quality of the book could be better in terms of paper, print and binding.

I bought this for the phonetics to help with pronounciation. They are there and I imagine they would be useful if I could actually read them! Even with my reading glasses on the text in this dictionary is hard to read - it's too small with a poor quality typeface on poor quality paper. Crisp text on quality properly WHITE paper would have been much better even if the text had to be this small. OK, I exagerate slightly. I can just about read it but it's no pleasure at all to do so, in fact it's darned hard work. My advice if you are looking for a similar dictionary is look elsewhere. If you want this particular one for the phonetics then buy an edition with larger print or, at very least, check in a bookshop to see if you can get along with the poor quality tiny text of this edition.

（いいところ） １．コンパクトで扱いやすい。辞書を引く面倒臭さが多少解消できる（わりと重要） ２．安い ３．ペーパーバックなので、ページがバラバラ取れたりしない（海外の辞書に多い） （もう少し頑張って欲しい点） １．例文がすくない。熟語、決まったフレーズももっと載せて欲しかった 本当はFrench/English のみの物が欲しかったのですが、他の辞書同様English/Frenchがついています。 English/Frenchをなくし、その分例文等を充実させてくれると最高だったのですが・・・ ただ使いやすいので、しばらく愛用することになりそうです。

It is better french-english dictionary with IPA pronuncuation for both languages - English as well as French. But i think it should've contained more words from French - Informal, Colloquial, Slang, & other registers of French language

not bad. first half of the book is for French, the other for English. BUT I couldn't find some of French words in it.

Very helpful for the kids and adults as well!

Estou bastante satisfeito com o conteúdo do Merriam-Webster's French-English Dictionary. O dicionário é completo e tem me ajudado bastante no aprendizado do francês. A organização das palavras e as definições são claras, o que torna a consulta rápida e eficiente. Tem pontos como: fonética, gramática, entre outros, que são bastante completos. No entanto, a entrega deixou a desejar. O livro chegou um pouco danificado, o que poderia ter sido evitado com uma embalagem mais cuidadosa. Fora isso, recomendo o produto!
