We do not have a box spring; the solid supports, or rails, extend pretty far under the mattress and we have experience no problems with "tipping" the safety rail either entering or leaving the bed. **Q: Would a 14” laptop fit on the pouch?** A: I think it would. I tried my 15” and it would fit if I stand it up with the narrow end at the top. A 14” would probably slide down in there. **Q: Do you have to purchase two kits to have handles on both sides of the bed?** A: No. I purchased one kit for one side of the bed. It works great. **Q: Will this work with an adjustable bed?** A: Yes it will it tucks under mattress not bed frame. They work very well to help you to get out of the bed.
