I have a 2005 Ford F250 that I upgraded the transmission to the 2008+ pan and filter. My intention was to just do away with this little paper roll filter, but I guess double filtration is better. This filter does not come with the o-ring for the housing, so take care not to break it or throw it away. You must use an impact gun and 22mm socket to break the cup loose on the housing and get the filter out. If you try to use a regular ratchet, the mount can bend and even break loose from its frame mount. For the money, this filter is just a 1/2" roll of cardboard with 2" of what looks like toilet paper wrapped around it, you'd think there would be more to it. I guess it filters well or at least well enough for the transmission to survive, but Ford also did away with this filter and went to a 100% filter 2008+, for a reason.

This secondary filter is mounted underneath the toward the right front fenderwell and should be replaced each time you service your transmission. It is very easy to remove the housing it is in and does not require replacing a o-ring on the adapter. Just pay attention to the position of the lower spring and spacer inside the bottom of the housing when installing the new filter.

This is the right filter for the vehicle listed in the title - note the chassis is for my Winnebago Motorhome, and the engine is a 6.8L V10. I am not going to go into whether I think this filter actually does a good job at filtering your transmission fluid (it doesn't) or whether you might want to install an inline filter to supplement this filter like a Magnafine (you might). Nor will I address that the "filter" installed inside your transmission (when removing the pan) is really not a filter, but just a screen.... Make note you will NOT find this filter when you remove the transmission pan - it is an external filter attached to your transmission cooler lines, and housed in a round metal housing. It is external to the transmission pan. Some have termed this "$20 toilet paper" --- it is not far from the truth... but since I still have stock filtering / screening on my vehicle, and have NOT put the Magnafine filter and larger pan upgrade, this is the best I can do...
