I haven't used my cooker for pasta or veggies yet, but I used it for rice for the first time yesterday, and I was so blown away to have PERFECT rice out of the microwave! Yippee! No more scrubbing pots or the rice cooker! I followed the included directions exactly for my Jasmine Rice. Rinsed it, measured in the water and salt, put on the inner and outer lids, and cooked it for the recommended time at 70% power (as recommended for microwaves that are 1000 watts or greater). No stirring needed during the cooking time-- just set the microwave and leave it alone! So easy! When the recommended time was up, I didn't take off the lid right away; I just let the rice sit for a few minutes while I finished preparing my meal. The rice was absolutely perfect! I was really surprised, because I've tried multiple times to cook rice in the microwave using the directions on the bag of rice or recipes from the Internet, all with terrible, inedible results. I chose to prepare a large amount of rice and had a lot left over. I put the lid on and stored the rice in my fridge, right inside the cooker! So convenient! Everything in the set is dishwasher safe. Even though I haven't yet used this cooker for pasta or veggies, the great results with rice make it worth the price for me already! I eat a lot of rice because of special dietary needs, and I can tell this microwave rice cooker is going to become an indispensable kitchen tool for me. I highly recommend it! I am looking forward to cooking veggies and pasta in it, too. The included measuring cups and spoons and the pasta measure make this set a really good value. I also think it would make a terrific gift! My only wish is that they would make this set in some pretty colors, rather than grey, which seems kind of drab to me. A sunny yellow or trendy turquoise blue or classic red maybe? But that's a small complaint for a really reasonably-priced, immensely useful set! I'm definitely happy with my purchase!

I’m disabled so this is a game-changer for me. I’ve used it twice so far and things come out pretty okay. Needed more time for the rice though, but otherwise went very well. It’s easy to use in the microwave and it’s a good food storage bowl. Almost everything that comes with it fits in the bowl and I love the 1/3 measuring cup. It’s bigger than I expected but I was very happy with that. Very easy to clean, no nooks and crannies for stuff to get caught on in the bowl. This would make a really good gift for anyone who doesn’t have a stove, college students, and people with disabilities. Definitely recommend this to anyone who cooks or uses a microwave!!

Being completely frank here, I have not used this product yet as I only received it a day ago. When I read through the instructions it said not to cook instant rice in this rice cooker, which didn't make sense to me. I tried finding information about this online to see if anyone tested it, but all I found were people quoting the instructions. I was disappointed considering I was planning on using this product to cook instant rice. I decided to contact customer service about this. The point of this post is not to review it, but to share the information I received after contact customer service about cooking instant rice. This is verbatim what customer service responded with to my question on cooking instant rice in this product: "Hello - Minute rice wasn't tested in this item. However, minute rice should work. The key is not to overfill the rice cooker but testing with 1 cup rice and 2 cups water should be fine to start with. PLACE 2 parts water and 1 part rice in a microwave-safe bowl. COVER, Microwave on HIGH until boiling. WAIT 5 minutes, or until water is absorbed, then fluff." I believe they may have copied some generic instant rice instructions on here as they said to use a "microwave-safe bowl" instead of the product's name. However, I'm happy to have confirmation that you can still cook instant rice with this product. It may just take some trial-and-error to find the right ratio of water to rice and the amount of time needed to cook it. That can easily be figured out though by experimenting with your own microwave and instant rice at home. I hope this post helps someone else out who buys this product and wants to use it to cook instant rice.

I use this for microwaving rice of all kinds in the microwave. I like that it's bigger than my previous one. Says you can cook pasta noodles, etc. in it too. Or veggies. Versatile little gadget. Just for kicks I bought an "aroma" brand bottom of their line electric cooker and it was AWFUL. It created a huge mess and the rice using this method sucked and made a huge mess compared to this all plastic one. I've used these for over 40 years! The places that break are at the little flaps that hold down the top to the bottom. One wrong fall and they'll snap off and then there's no way to secure the lid properly. So I'm very careful NOT to drop the gray bottom pot part. Should last us for the rest of our lives! Well made too. and great price. Perfect rice every time. MOST important thing is to CLEAN the rice VERY VERY WELL. Water should run clear through a wire basket before using it. Otherwise rice comes out gooey and sticks together. Get that part right and the rest is really easy.

Bought this for someone else who's having a hard time getting good rice out of their countertop rice cooker. I've had a few similar to this growing up and even currently throughout my life and I do this would be an easy reliable option. It works as expected. Had zero issues with any kind of melting or weird burn spots even in a tiny microwave is that the size is almost too big for. I really bought it mainly for just making rice but it comes with so many accessories which is really cool. the person I bought it for also didn't have any measuring cups or spoons so this was great for the price to include measuring utensils and a steamer basket and tray. For simple Rice my recipes always been 2 cups long grain rice, three cups water, a tablespoon of oil, teaspoon of salt. Wash the rice at least three times and strain it. After the final rinse pour in 3 cups of cold water and the oil and salt, give it a stir put the to lids on and pop it in the microwave for 20 minutes. once it's done you can leave it in the microwave OFF a few more or take it out and set it on the counter and let it sit for 5 minutes then fluff. Perfect rice every time. At least that's how my mama showed me a long time ago and I've always loved it. Stores in the fridge easily in container and can be reheated that way with a splash of water. for reheating rice though I definitely recommend only taking the portion that you want and heating it instead of reheating an entire container multiple times.

I was tired of cooking rice on the stovetop that ALWAYS boiled over. I found this and decided to give it a try. It works!! I love the ease and convenience of popping it in my microwave and having good rice with such little effort. Mine does boil over a little bit so I just put a small plastic plate underneath the container while it's cooking and I can just rinse that plate off once my rice is done. Plus, it comes with measuring cups and spoons, and a pasta guide, as a bonus! I haven't tried pasta in it yet but I will.

I had one of these for years and went to the big fancy one and now I'm back to this one again. I feel it doesn't burn the rice like the fancy rice cookers and the rices comes out perfect every time. Not to mention the easy clean up and dishwasher safe. This one is better then others because it also does veggies and pasta. It can do up to 10 cups of cooked rice. You get so may extra pieces with this one so if your pricing around make sure you compare the amount of rice you can do as well as all the extras you get with it and the ability to do veggies and pasta You can't go wrong with this one, dishwasher safe and versatile. I will be selling my fancy rice cooker it doesn't compare to this one

Una maravilla cocer pasta y arroz. Solo hay que seguir las instrucciones y ajustar los tiempos según el horno de cada quien, yo tuve que aumentar en un 75% los tiempos de cocción. Dice que es para tocino pero las instrucciones no lo indican.

All items good quality. design is space saving for easy storing. So many useful items. Well packed in box plus instruction book on how to best cook with speed.
