This worked perfectly when I bought it, but now there seems to be no connection between handle and cutter

The telescopic section has a number of holes in it which the locking lever locates into. If the slide is not locked in place the handle does not work the blade. When locked the lever on the top of the fitting is raised.

How long is it unextended please?

Unextended and straight it is 183 cm. The last 20 cm. articulates so with it ‘bent’ the length is 179 cm. This really is a great tool! As long as you do not try to cut stuff that is just too big! Invaluable.

Does this item come with the saw as advertised?

Hi Hayley, I have had my snapper for a number of years now , I don't reemember that it came with a saw Attachment . In fact there is no way I could attach anything to the end of the snapper .However it's a great Piece of kit I use mine all the time , I even let my neighbor.borrow it. I think what you have seen is an improved Version . Just get one you won't regret it just for the snapper alone.

Yes it cuts well and grips. I happily cut my very large climbing rose over my neighbour's fence and the cutting retrieves with no problem. However the jaw does not open as wide as it might, the flexible head tends to flex rather too easily sometimes, and it can end up feeling quite heavy after a while. Don't get me wrong I am 75 and being picky, it is a good tool. I also have a 1.5 meter fixed Darlac snapper - that is fantastic, probably the best garden tool I own.
