This item arrived as advertised and as expected. It is well balanced, the grind was pretty good, and after some cleaning turned out to be an excellent work piece. It definitely needed to be sharpened.For your reference, the pin sizes you'll need are 5/32 and 7/64.I used brass stock from the local hardware store for the pins, and a 2 part epoxy to set everything together. Seen in my image is the finished product. The handle was made from Walnut and Poplar and conditioned with a semi gloss oil.

The blade appears to be outstanding. I have just started working on a knife for a friend of mine. He saw the blade, and his first question was "who's name is on that blank". I told him I think it should be his. As with almost all steel it takes time (sometimes quite a bit) to judge the quality, ease of maintaining, and the life of the blade. I am not an expert on steel but my impressions are that this should be a good blade.

Great knife. Reallly hard steel! Rusts easily so make sure yo ulather this dude up realll good with CLP and let it set over night in a plastic bag to really get it coated good. Takes a good bit of time to get it sharp but when you do, it stays sharp! This is a really good knife!!! I wrapped para-chord around my handle But seeing the pic of that wooden handle has me looking for a wooden handle know. :)

Beautiful blade, very heavy, but well balanced. Only complaint the pin holes need a bit of cleanup, but that's not all that unusual with knife blanks. The small and large pin pattern should make this a beautiful knife, with a dark wooden handle. I'm thinking black walnut.
