pandooBamboo Mancala - strategy board game - perfect for travel or holidays

Not a good start - it was packaged in a box that had been opened before and clearly damaged (the external Amazon postal box was fine and had no damage). Generally a low quality product. The hinge did not open fully and so the board did not lie flat on the table. The 'seeds' were a mix of small rounded stones (which were fine) but also some were tiny bits of sharp gravel - I could have found nicer stones in my garden! The board and the beads were less than inspiring and so it was returned.

What a lovely game - really looking forward to playing this on our upcoming staycation. It is well made board with wooden hinges and all counters are included. There are also instructions in English and other languages too. The fact that this product it is environmentally friendly is just an amazing added bonus (made with bamboo, natural stones for counters and no plastic in sight). I would be happy to buy this as a gift for a friend. The only thing I am planning to change is to replace the stones with ones we find at the beach on our trip (however the stones included are smooth and would do fine- I just like the idea of making it more personal for my children).

We really like our Mancala game. I particularly like that it is made from bamboo, but would say that it would benefit from perhaps a leather strap and fitting to keep the folded board closed, when not being used. We have replaced our bit of regular stone with some lovely tumbled semi-precious stones and it is a joy to play. Far more addictive than you realise once you get used to the rules, but so easy too. Nice to play a traditional, classic game.... More of the same please!

The only minor quibble might be that a few of the pebbles are so minute one is inclined to overlook them when playing. Replacements available from my garden, however, so no big deal.
