Question 1

who makes this cat food crave?

Accepted Answer

The manufacturer is Mars Pet Foods. Crave is a pretty old brand that disappeared for a while and came back as a grain free line of pet foods. It's pretty good stuff too. My very allergic cat doesn't get sick from this and the cost is reasonable. I can't tell you much more.

Question 2

Why does it say no chicken meal in one of the photos, and yet the second ingredient is Chicken Meal for the salmon & ocean fish flavor?

Accepted Answer

The reap was correct. Chicken meal is simply chicken without the liquid. It's sort of like dehydrated chicken (though differently processed) and, in fact, my research suggests that it my even be better because in the process the chicken becomes more concentrated (per kibble, that is). Hope that helps.
And I am not affiliated with this or any other cat food company, nor is anybody I know. (I WISH!)

Question 3

What percentage is carbohydrates?

Accepted Answer

As was correctly noted by others, cats are obligate carnivores. They lack the carb processing enzymes that are required for proper digestion of carbs and will therefore experience physical distress when they are fed carbs—even carbs that smell like "chicken". Cats MUST have meat to keep their strength and health. But not only must they have meat, as obligate carnivores they need to maintain a strong stomach acidity in order to get all the nutrients they require from the meat they eat. Eating carbs impairs that ability because carbs reduce their stomach acidity—raises the pH—so they then fail to get all the good they need from the meat they eat. They also require calcium, and though meat is a poor source of calcium, they normally would obtain this mineral from eating the small animals they are designed to catch. They chew up the small bones. Since adult cats are lactose intolerant, you can give them the calcium they need—plus a whole vitamin store's worth of vitamins & minerals—by giving your cat regular small servings of 100% lactose-free whole milk "Lactaid", or Walmart's Great Value brand. A food that your cat will be very happy to have as its staple is Blue Harbor Solid Albacore Tuna With No Added Salt—delivered promptly to your door by Amazon's trusty blue delivery trucks. —Happy kittys!

Question 4
