Great Quality
I was super impressed with the overall quality of the herbs, though I did find that some of the packages were slightly open. Not in the sense that there was herb all over the place, but more-so the fact that I could really smell some of them. I figured that could also possibly be a remnant of the manufacturing process, but regardless, the quality was just fine on everything I received. I was initially concerned there could be some problems, but I noticed none. These jars are designed a little different than anything I've ever seen before. You can twist the lid one way to get smaller holes, or twist the other way to get a large hole. This is great for being able to shake out smaller amounts into a meal. If you need to spoon any out, the lid is held snugly and will require some mild force to remove. The other thing that I also really liked about these were the magnets. I didn't even get them for that, but as soon as I saw it, it gave me a great idea for an improvement in my kitchen!!! I'm going to get a strip of magnetic tape and secure it under my cabinet space. That'll allow me to hang these upside-down, under the cabinets. I firmly believe the lids will hold just fine upside down. This set of herbs is a bit more on the basic side. The only one that seemed kind of exotic is the Tumeric. What do you even cook with that? Oh well. Something to challenge myself with, certainly! So far everything I've made with these has turned out just as I'd hoped. Price is a bit on the steeper side, but I usually just buy the cheapest herbs I can find at the store. I've no idea what quality brands can run. These could very well be on the cheap end. I just can't say for sure. I'm happy regardless, and will likely keep these containers when it's time to replace the herbs. Can't go wrong here.

Great spices
I dumped all of my spices when I got these spices. I would say that most people that cook need to get rid of their spices. They go bad after a rather short time and using older spices are just not as good as fresh ground spices. I know I forget about spices until I need them. Some of the spices I had were over five years old. Regardless of my silliness, this is a good buy. Right out of the box you can tell you get a pretty good item. The spices are sealed and will stay that way until you use them. I opened all of mine and cooked with them and they all were pretty good. You will have some you like and some you don't but all in all, they are really well-made spices. My personal favorite is turmeric. This is a good starter kit. I will be buying more. I love the can as they are magnetic and stack well. The graphics are wonderful and you can see exactly what you are going to use. Give it a shot.

Nice variety of spices, fresh and tastey, functional tins with magnetic bottoms.
This is a nice starter kit of often used spices. These are fresh and tasty, and come packed in a bag inside the tin for extra freshness. As soon as I opened a few of them I realized that in comparison, some of the spices in my cabinet were old and needed replacing. I am more than happy with these, and love the tins they come in with their magnetic bottoms. These can be refilled when new spices are purchased.

Nice starter set with magnetic bottoms
This is a pretty great season kit for starting out or expanding your spice rack. Each canister is pretty good sized. As you can see they are about the size of my hand in the photos. The spices are sealed in bags for protection during shipping I suspect. You will need to open each bag and pour spices into the canisters. When using you have a couple of options to remove the lid to easily measure out amounts, or you can twist the side of the lid to the opening and use the Large pour (option 1 in photos) or the smaller shaker holes (Option 2 in photos). The bottoms of each of these has a magnet attached and holds pretty firm. The last photo isn't upside down that is the jar hanging. The lid stayed firmly in place with no issues. Overall, these are reusable if desired and pretty light wight. The seasonings are flavorful and cooked with no bitter aftertaste. At a little over $7 per jar for these spices you are paying for the reusable canisters as well as the spices. Not really a bad deal.

Fresh and tasty basics
This is a great basic set. The spices smell and taste fresh, and are initially packed in sealed plastic bags. The metal containers are handy, and refillable/reusable since the top/lid doesn't just twist, but also comes all the way off. When emptying the plastic bags and filling the spice containers, it helped me to tip the containers back slightly (away from the dispensing holes), for less mess. The magnets are affixed like a sticker, so that does concern me about them eventually detaching sometime down the road. For now, though, I like the convenience of them sticking to the fridge. As someone who does a lot of cooking, some of these really are starter ones and great basics, especially garlic, onion powder, and salt. I think (not included) cumin and black or white pepper would have been good starter ones, too. But it's a great set, and a nice way to declutter a counter from spice containers.

Fresh spices!
The containers with magnetic bottoms is such an innovative idea! Spices come in little bags that need to be emptied. Spices are so fresh and flavorful and each one is labeled on the container so you can see them when stuck on the fridge. The red pepper flakes are especially good and hotter than others I've used. Just make sure you have them completely closed before sticking them on the fridge sideways and twisted around so the holes are shut.
