It definitely works! Easy to install & sturdy

HEAVY! Pleasantly surprised at the quality of this item for the price, especially considering its size. It's sturdy, functional and looks good. Be forewarned the package weighs 300 pounds. Recommend hiring a handyman or having sturdy family members help w/ installation. Boo to the delivery people who put it on the wrong doorstep--cost me extra to have the handyman drag it over. But would definitely recommend the gate. Another thing to note: The lock is in the direction of the swing, so if you are installing on a slope you will be limited to installing the lock on whatever side of your driveway is lower.

I have a son with Prader-Willi Syndrome, which means that he is unable to feel satiated when eating (perpetually feeling starved no matter how much he eats) so access to food can be deadly. To deter nighttime food seeking, we had always used tension gates, until he was big and strong enough to take them down. So I began looking for a metal security gate that we could use inside, and chose this for the accordion feature. It is perfect. We installed it in 40 minutes, taking our time. And just like that, huge relief knowing that our son would be safe at night. The cats can go underneath as they please. If we ever needed to move it, it would be easy to uninstall and reinstall. Super well made.

I would give it a five star, but the package is very poor and the product arrived with the bottom of box ripped off and al the mounting accessories, padlock, padlock loop and wheels where all missing. Amazon was gracious enough to offer a partial credit so I can purchase the lock and the padlock loop. Was able to find some crews that worked for mounting gate. It is a great product. I hope the vendor heeds this review and beefs up the packaging. Just wrapping shipping tape around the bottoms would probably avoid this issue in the future. Highly recommend the Gate. The best purchase I have made in years. Replaces the old ugly chain link and even though it’s much higher it is almost invisible. So easy to open and gives me full access to the side yard. So easy to install because you don’t have to adjust the posts opening to match the gate size. In the photo it is on the right side of my house. Also intruders can’t climb this gate easily or at all. This metal is strong.

This has helped me close off my garage so we can keep it open and utilize the great outdoor feeling.

I will update this review as needed, as I am currently discussing this issue with the manufacturer. This gate is not really 6-1/2'H, it is closer to 7' 3" at the frame brackets at the ends, as shown. Even removing the casters from the unit, you'll still need at least a 7' H opening to fit this gate. There is no way to make this gate fit a space that is only 6-1/2' tall. Since this listing disappeared from Amazon shortly after purchase, I contacted VEVOR directly to address the situation. After many times back and forth on their customer support message system, they offered to ship the "correct" size replacement gate. The replacement, too, was well over 7' tall. Their response when I contacted them about having shipped yet another gate that would not fit a 6-1/2'H area included, "The warehouse staff said that the product is okay, and there may be some deviations in the product." Deviations, perhaps, but nearly a foot difference in height from what is advertised? It appears their height measurement is of the gate interior once the gate is fully extended, but the height of the gate as a unit is well over 7', even though their advertisement lists the height at 6-1/2' in the contracted position. If you are not constrained by the height of this gate at the frame rails, this might be the security gate for you, but if you are looking to fit this "6-1/2'H" gate into a 6-1/2'H opening, seek elsewhere. ------ UPDATE: Based on the fact their "6-1/2H" gate was nearly a foot taller than advertised, I had VEVOR ship a "5'H" gate as a potential replacement. Unlike the "6-1/2'H" version, the "5'H" gate was only a few inches taller than advertised, leaving it too short for my 6-1/2' application. (Once again, VEVOR was unwilling/unable to tell me precisely how tall their "5'H" gate was before shipping it to me.) They recommended requesting a partial refund through Amazon. BOTTOM LINE: VEVOR gates are NOT, in fact, the height stated in their advertisements. Their customer service was ultimately helpful in sending replacement gates (and offering to let me keep the previous shipments), but could/would not provide the actual dimensions before doing so. 4 stars for the customer service, but 1 star for not providing a security gate as actually described & sold.
