This book will make you want to go on a hunt, for spirits!
Full on tasty and elaborate cocktails recipes. The ingredients will shockingly surprise you leaving you with a desire to hunt them down. Don't buy it for your spouse or family members as a present unless you can supply the ingredients :)

Disappointed
Great illustrations but unfortunately most of the spirits in the cocktail recipes are unavailable for UK readers, but the ones that are available are super.

Too complicated.
Wish I hadn’t bought this. The ingredients list is insane. This is not for anyone who wants to make a cocktail at home. Each recipe features at least 2 ingredients that you will have to source specially.

Too Specialist
Too many hard to source ingredients

Mostly fantastic recipes, but difficult to source/make ingredients
This is a beautifully compiled and produced book. However, I have been making cocktails at home for about 30 years and have a very well stocked drinks cabinet - and I couldn't make many of these drinks. I got into Tiki drinks about 10 years ago and have a variety of ingredients such as falernum, allspice dram, cinnamon syrup and about 20 different rums. I've made my own infusions and syrups before, and many of these drink recipes call for at least one custom-made ingredient.I can make about 10 of these recipes from what I already have. Everything else would need something bought or made specially. That's quite a big investment of time and/or money to try a drink that you might not end up liking. Unfortunately, of those I've tried already, only one or two have been things I'd make again. The book holds lots of promise and is hugely inspiring, but practically, it just doesn't offer the home bartender a lot of scope to make some interesting drinks with what you've already got.Having said that, there is one recipe that requires 'banana chip infused bourbon', which I am just going to have to make because it sounds amazing!I would say even most commercial bars would struggle to have the ingredients to make most of these drinks, but if you're prepared to put in the effort, there could be some amazing and unique drinks in here. All credit to Shannon Mustipher for her innovtativeness and dedicated approach to building a drinks programme. But this book is really only of use to the most devoted Tiki fan who can develop the ingredients list required.
