Humbug: Arctic Monkeys Unique Album
First off this is my favorite album by Arctic Monkeys, who are also my favorite band. Now Humbug is without a doubt the most unique and hardest Arctic Monkeys album to get into. It doesn't many songs that are easy to grasp unlike AM which has more radio friendly tracks. A few songs like Crying Lightning and Cornerstone are big hits, but the rest of the album has some of the most unique and complex songs in Arctic Monkey's catalogue. I may be biased to Humbug, but musically I will stand my ground and say that this the boys' best album, musically. Its songs are extremely complex where you don't have many repeating choruses and verses. The songs just have so many multiple parts to em. I am also a huge fan of a lot of The Beatles later psychedelic works, and Arctic Monkeys definitely draw inspiration from that among others. For me some of my personal favorite tracks on Humbug are Potion Approaching, Dance Little Liar, and Pretty Visitors. These are 3 of the most unique and complex songs Arctic Monkeys have made. To start I love the eerie change Potion Approaching goes through towards the end of the song. Where the music slows up, and Alex sings in this very slow erie voice while the rest of the members sing slow erie, "WooWoo" in the background. It was hard for me to get into Humbug, but when I heard Potion Approaching come through the shuffle on my iPod it changed my thoughts on the album. Then there is Dance Little Liar which to me every part of the album is unique, and then there is the climax where the guitar is just wailing, and you just have this epic feel to the song before it closes. Then on comes Pretty Visitors which has this circus feel to it with the organ and the way the guitars and such come in sounds like an orchestral piece. Like I said before, Humbug is a very unique album. It is hard to get into, as I had a hard time getting into it, but after plenty of listens, this is my favorite album by Arctic Monkeys. Humbug is a great album, and I know its not a favorite among most Arctic Monkeys fans, but the album has a special place in my heart.

amazing album, obviously
I adore humbug so much, it's my favourite Arctic Monkeys album, and I'm sure it'll stay that way. When I first heard My Propeller I didn't enjoy it that much, same with the rest of the album, (except for Pretty Visitors, which is my favourite song) but after a few listens I grew to love this masterpiece of an album. I mean cmon,, it's SUCH A GOOD ALBUM. I'm in love with it, and it will always have a special place in my heart. HUMBUG 🔛🔝!!! But anyway, the actual vinyl itself seems in good condition, I haven't tested it yet, but the cover is in perfect condition, and theres no obvious scratches or anything like that on the vinyl. My only concern is how it was packaged. It was just kinda thrown in the box with nothing to protect it.. It was just.. in the box. But I can't complain, everything seems in good condition. (I'll make sure to update when I test it!)Update: it sounds great, plays perfectly, no scratches or anything! (i cant stop playing it, i am obsessed with this album)

They Grew Up, Musicly
Ok first off I have alot of musical intrest. The Artic Monkeys fit somewhere between The Strokes and The Hives in my book. However I also love Queens of the Stone Age, front man Josh Homme produced most of this album at Rancho de la Luna, where the Desert Sessions are Recorded.Ok now if you know both of these bands you know they sound nothing alike, but this cd is a conjunction of the two. You have a generally slower tempo, darker sound and lyrics, and trippy slide guitar work. The reason I loved the artic monkeys was the same reason I liked the hives, something you could dance to so to speak. Upbeat. I think they probably alienated a lot of listeners who knew them before for this reason. Its just not the same.Having said all that, musicly i find this cd fantastic. To be honest it did take a few listens, but the lyrics and the perfect timing of subtle guitar riffs will just blow you away. The bass lines are perfectly fit into the music, nothing over powers or is lost in the translation. If I had to put what they did into a phrase it would be: They grew up.
