I was surprised at just how slim this case was compared to other cases

Liked that this is very slim. Problem is, plastic shell is quite slick. I was worried i would drop it. I ended up cutting small grooves down the side of the case. There is no rubber inner cover on this, so not much drop protection. The top and bottom are only protected along the back edge. The front edge is exposed, so if it lands face down on the top of bottom edge, there is not protection. Went into and out of holster fairly easily. Since it does not have a rubber lining, the buttons on the side are exposed, but with the case surrounding them, they are still protected because they are recessed. I actually liked this, since with a rubber cover, I tended to turn the phone off when I was just holding it tightly.

This is a good case, the same brand I have used on my previous 2 phones the Droid Maxx and Droid Turbo 2. I do wish the case rose up higher on the sides of the phone's screen, to give more of an elevated edge to protect the phone in case you drop your phone face down onto the floor. The same brand's case on the Droid Maxx & Droid Turbo 2 had a millimeter or more higher edge from the phone case, which protected the phone better.

I had been using the Otter cases and thought I'd try the Moto z, it is a much thinner sturdy case and I am very happy with it, and the cost is much less than the Otter

This is garbage. Not a phone case w/holster. I don't know what it is & won't even open it. Do not buy this product. It's not what it is advertised as. Total lie!

It is light. East to slip out
