AMAZING!!!!
This is our second year together and I wanted something special for a gift. I came across this BEAUTIFUL creation just looking for some ideas and once I read the product I just had to see for myself how pretty it was by the way it read. Well, this AMAZING sand picture just arrived via FedEx Smartpost and I simply sank into a chair and could not put it down once I opened the box!!! If you have a guy on your list that has everything, this is a WONDERFUL idea and a gift that will bring even the most picky guy to his knees with mouth open in amazement. Hat's off to you Mr. Stearns!!! Your workmanship belongs in the Met!!! I have never seen such flowing beauty in the palms of my hands!!! The colors are out of this world and the touch of ruby colored sand to that deep black is so fabulous!!! I am getting another one for my mother. She was here when I opened this one and I cannot get it away from her. The packaging is great and the item is out of this world beautiful!!!

the sand was beautiful and frame was sturdy
I recieved it very quickly, so A+ on that. When I recieved it, the sand was beautiful and frame was sturdy. I was pretty disappointed after playing with it for a few minutes, as when the sand settled, it was apparent that there was dried glue on both sides of glass, I assume from the frame? So disappointing, and I can't return it because my boyfriend's birthday is soon. I don't want to try to scrape it off with anything more than my fingernail because I don't want to scratch it. Bummer.

Beautiful!
Beautiful! It takes a few tries to regulate the air.

Very disappointed
This just looked tacky. I didn't realize it would have gold glitter sand. Not worth the price. These sand pictures can be quite interesting and fun. Did not meet my expectations.

Rainbow Vision Sand Picture
This was originally bought for a Christmas present but it was too small and sand did not move much and landed in the same spot so there was not much to watch. I however, bought a larger more colorful one.

The item that entertains guests
This item was given to my husband and I for Christmas and now it's become our go-to gift for others. Although we liked the sand picture right out of the box, we didn't know how much we (and our guests) would love it until several months later. We noticed that every single one of our guests would simply sit in the chair by the sand picture and just stare at the sand falling. When all of the sand fell, they'd instantly flip the picture and stare some more. It's one of the best conversation pieces that we have.It surprisingly makes beautiful scenes that change depending on how the sand falls, if you move it, etc. Several times a year, we have to add/remove water, but it hasn't been that bad.

Rainbow sand picture
Bought one for myself and my grandkids would come to our house and want to look and then flip over the sand picture. We bought one for each of our grandkids and it gives them a lot of fun. My youngest grandson who is five was looking forward to receiving his as his cousin has one. He calls it his mountain maker. It is kept in the kitchen of their home so all the kids in the family get a chance to turn it over and see what it creates. They enjoy it immensely and I for one think it's a welcome change from "electronics". It gets their imagination going !Claudia

Disappointed.
I purchased this as a gift for someone who was enamored with the larger one a colleague of ours has. It's the same color combination, and the sand in the slightly larger version peaks and falls beautifully. I don't know if something has changed in the quality of sand between the two, but in the smaller version the white sand looks almost like someone poured milk into the frame. It clouds up and makes the entire picture a little weird looking. It also seems like there's way more of it than any of the other colors, so you end up with results that are mostly just blobs of white. The sand as a whole also does not seem to fall into peaks no matter how the air is adjusted, or how much someone plays with it. It's always just a flat landscape with small lines of color in it.
