Very good product. Works great. A little goes a long way. Excllent value for the price.
Works very well. Has a tiny bit more shine than some "low shine" products I've used, but definitely still qualifies as low shine. The hold and flexibility are great. It's doesn't hold as strongly as high-hold hairspray, but I haven't found a product in a jar that does, except high-hold pomades that are glossy, kind of sticky, usually labeled "extreme hold" and are more like "hair cement". The scent is understated and not noticeable to me unless I'm smelling it still in the container. Don't let the word "paste" put you off of it, it's not sticky or pasty, and when used in the right amount (sparingly and learned with a couple of uses...start with less, you can always add a little more) it's light and not even noticeable in your hair. A not-very-thick layer on my fingertip the diameter of a large pea is how much I use. Spread that little bit evenly on the first three fingers of both hands and spread it around and through my hair, back and forth, side to side, around in circles, however you want to do it. Easy-peasy. This is a very good product, and is very similar to Fix Your Lid Styling Fiber. Both products are about a toss-up as far as how they work, how they look (though the Fix Your Lid may have slightly less shine), and how they look and feel in the container and when applying. A little goes a long way, and even if your hair is a bit longer than my short hair, the 3.4 oz container will last a long time, like months, maybe a year, using it five days a week.

Strong hold easy to apply
Best product on the market. I have had a long beard for the past 10 years. I have used oils, waxes, pomades and balms. Cremo pomade is my favorite for shaping and styling my beard. The stronghold last all day. It is easy to put on, especially when you compare it to beard waxes and balms. It has a subtle fragrance that is nice. What I like is that it washes out easily and does not dry out my beard.

"Hold is MEDIUM with a lean towards high hold"...
I think if you use enough of it, you can kind of get close to HIGH hold. But start in smaller amounts because certain hair types might bog down and look matted down if you go too deep. I say it is closer to MEDIUM hold because anywhere close to the cowlick my hair did not stay down unless I used excessive amounts there and hit it with hair spray. Also, it did not allow me to form my hair exactly how I want and have it stay that way. I applied it slightly damp with light water flicked on it. My hair is: "bowl do" straight with almost NO body to it; dark brown; 10mm or so on top and 0.5 mm sides and back via a "mini mini fauxhawk" hairstyle; hair is fairly thick but not coarse...closer to fine than coarse SHINE = HIGH TEXTURE = allows for a layered look (aesthetically pleasing) SNIFF = light men's cologne/fragrance sniff, not offensive or musky, not rough, pretty good (I prefer citrus, but this is decent) Hair is NOT crunchy not very oily or greasy. A pretty good option for my style but it is not ideal since I cannot form my hair into the fauxhawk and have it hold like I prefer. My hair still looks good, just not ideally good. I like this brand for value and quality. I might have to consider the medium-hold, medium-shine "glue" type texture product. Although, it surely will not have the hold I need for this haircut. I think I used this product when I had medium-length hair and it provided very nice results.

professional opinion & use
This is my new go to product. I'm a female hairstylist, out of the business, recovering from a kidney transplant so I need easy products, like most people. My hair is short, normal thickness and naturally between curly and wavy. It's not stinky, in any direction. It's just kind of clean and light on fragrance. I hate almost all fragrances so that's really huge with me and I'm not allergic to it. Yay! Oh and it's a matte finish. No vaseline looking hair for me, thanks. I want some control and a messy separated look, without being too heavy or greasy. I think this product will work best if you're a little on the thin side, all the way up to a normal thickness. I do not recommend this to someone with ultra thick hair because by the time you get enough of it, it'll be too heavy and gross feeling. This product is fairly lightweight for a paste...but it is paste so tread lightly if you're noticeably thinning. Here is my recommendation on how to use this product: First of all, this will 100% work better on dry hair. This is true with almost all products in these little round cans. If you're looking to get what I call a piecey look or textured look, start with an amount that equals about 2 green peas. (noticeably thinning start with one pea) Put that in one palm and rub your palms together. Most of these products work better with a little body heat. Then do what I call "scrunch, pick and pull". Go over your hair with a scrunching motion to distribute the product. Then use your hands to pick and pull your hair into your desired style. If you need more neatness you can also use a comb after the scrunching step. Don't be afraid to add hairspray if you like an ultra textured look. Don't expect this to hold to that level by itself. I use sculpting lotion when my hair is wet. Then I dry it. Then I apply this product and then hairspray. If you have hair that is difficult in any way, you're not likely to ever find a magic product that does it all. I can't but this whole routine takes me less than 5 minutes so do what you gotta do.

I don't think people understand what this is for...
It's getting a lot of mixed reviews, some loving it and some not so much. Products like this are very personal and subjective. But I think some folks are confusing this matte hair paste for other products and then don't like it because it's not what they're used to because it's not super gooey, not shiny, or doesn't have enough hold. What I learned is that this type of product is for people with fine hair, thinning hair, etc., so the first thing I learned from professional barber Matty Conrad is that when you have fine or thinning hair you don't want a lot of weight or water sagging your hair down. Gels, pomades, and the like have higher hold but also weigh your hair down making it appear like you have less hair. So the function of this type of product is supposed to be light and dry. So less is more in the sense that you don't want a ton of product in your hair weighing your hair down, making it appear stringy, saggy, or limp. Another thing is that hold is dependant on hair length, and so he recommends that folks with thinning or fine hair keep hair length between 3 to 5 inches. I actually bought this because his Victory brand super dry was out of stock and this seemed like a good comparison. I will say that I don't blow dry my hair personally, but he recommends salt sprays, matte dry pastes, and blow drying your hair and getting a cut that suits your hair type. All this to say, I think some people are not liking this product because it's not what they're accustomed to. But what they're accustomed to is usually made for thicker hair types. So it's all about maximizing your specific hair type. Also, it doesn't go into wet hair or on wet hands as well as others products. I've come to see this is because super dry matte pastes are made for dry to mostly dry hair. When used correctly I find it gives me the texture and hold I need, and smells clean and refreshing. Not trying to put folks down or anything, but I hate to see bad reviews because people are not up to speed on this sort of thing. Anyway, I'll be trying Victory super dry when it's back in stock, but in the meantime this is fantastic stuff. Just that you have to understand what's it's intended to do and how to use it just right! Hey I had to learn all this too! If you go to Matty Conrad's YouTube channel there's a video on fine and thinning hair that really helped me to understand how to maximize my own personal haircare needs. In the meantime, I think this product is getting a bad wrap because it's made for specific reasons. Hope this helps you guys and gals out there!

Does the job but takes over
Great hold... Creates the perfect modern look I was going for... But very strong fragrance. It doesn't smell bad. But does smell A LOT. Will not be able to wear any cologne with thus product.

Amazing to tame thick wavy hair into submission
My son swears by this pomade for his thick wavy hair to tame it into submission without looking oily or greasy. He's a server in a high-end restaurant and has to look presentable. Plus, it's easy to use, effective, a good value for the money, and the ingredients are high-end. The fragrance isn't overpowering for him, which is a bonus. Highly recommend
