I think it will be a great pack for Spartan races
The pack was what I expected! I think it will be a great pack for Spartan races.I used this pack for a Spartan race beast, I had enough room for everything I needed to carry (go pro items, power bars, wallets for my five man team, also two cell phones) had more room if I wanted to put clothes in it as well. The pack kept out the water which I was in for more than half of race (14.2 miles) also rained. Had no problems with the zipper with mud and dried up mud on the zipper. Excellent pack especially with me having people stand on it a few times to get them over the 10 foot walls or even having to put my weight on the pack to brace my back against the walls to help other Spartans up. I have read the other reviews before buying it, some people had problems. I just think those people weren't being kind to the zipper and where trying to zip it like it is a regular bag that is a real zipper. This is all plastic/like a zip lock bag you put food in (the zipper is the only thing that is plastic) but if being careful and treated right I don't think the zipper will be a problem as long as you use the grease that is supplied to put on the zipper. I will be using this pack for all of my races. Glad I picked this one out of the other options I had.

Terrible zipper system, Very poor quality, completely dumb techincal design
I bought this backpack before leaving on a 3 week trip to Thailand. It looked good and well designed, and was going to be used primarily for some dry clothes and a camera. by day 3 the patented zipper stopped working. It only zipped part of the zipper and the rest had to be sealed by hand like a ziplock back - which hardly worked. It would get stuck and did not slide properly. By day 5, the tab on the zipper completely broke off. I would have thrown the bag out but decided the return would be worth me hanging onto it (although a burden) for the remainder of my trip, - where it was basically packed away in my suitcase until I got home to send it back.

Not very durable
Zipper pull broke off after only a few uses.

Wonderful Purchase
Bought this for a trip I was going to take to Oahu, Hawaii. Worked SO well. Not a drop of water got in the bag.I have two complaints though:1. It is quite small and hard to fit items into2. The area of the zipper is a bit annoyingOther than that this bag worked wonders. Great purchase. Totally worth it if you are planning on going in the water and keep your items safe and dry. (An additional plus if you aren't planning on going diving is that the bag helps you float in the water as well)

Fantastic Hydration Pack For Beaches, Rainforests, and River Trips
Had this pack for a few months now. When I was first shopping around I was just looking for a camelback of some sort. We live in Arizona and hike a lot, so water is important. However, we are big beach bums. All of our vacations are to tropical locations and since my wife and I are still in our 20s, we tend to trek around alot. I came across Mad Water and thought a water proof camelback would be perfect for our beach escapes. So far it has worked great. I haven't completely submerged the pack yet (no need to), but I have gone through some waterfalls and splashes with no problem. Only caveat is that it has a ton of straps. I'm sure they all have their purpose, I just don't know what they are......

IT BROKE AT FIRST USE
We took it out swimming and after we swam, we tried to open it but one of the tabs came right off. It kept water out the first time so we were okay. However, we went back swimming right after and when we tried to open it, the other tab came off too. That time, it didn't keep water out either. What a waste of money.

Two stars for holes being in the water bag
I was so excited to use it until I filled my water pack up and saw there was a hole in it. So sad I can't use this on my hike today. I even tried taping it up with duck tape but it didn't work.

Worked great against water
Used this on an island for 10 days off the coast of Florida. Worked great against water. The glue that held the handles on the outside that are use to open the bag melted off. I had to use the bag itself to open it. Made it difficult to open. Great concept just needs some tweaking.
