Simple/compact adapter.
Great for connecting regular 110V cords to marine shore power that I wouldn't otherwise be able to use with my small boat.Update 11/26/14: Most of the places I stay at on my boat don't have electricity, so I didn't get a chance to use it until recently. When I tried to use it into a 30 amp twist lock socket, I had to bend the prongs inward and then force it hard into the socket, which then broke off some plastic from the socket. My neighbor had a pigtail adapter he was next to mine, so I tried using his in the same socket as mine and it fit perfectly. Seems like this Marinco adapter had the prongs too far apart. Unfortunately way to late to send it back, but would love to hear what others and the company have to say about this. I gave it a two instead of a one just because I was able to eventually get it to work, but with damage to the 30 amp socket.Update 6/2015--I got another 30 amp converter, and it and this one both worked on another marina, so I think as Trapper said, the marina I was at must have had 20 amp outlets instead of 30 amp. And I thought 30 amp was pretty universal for marinas--guess not.

Marinco is about the best in the biz
If you need to adapt a locking 120V 30A receptacle to a accommodate a 15 or 20 piece of equipment with a standard wall plug, this one really is about the best out there. Now I'll admit there are cheaper alternatives, but when dealing with electrical equipment, I want something that's been genuinely UL listed. Marinco is a trusted brand in my opinion. This is part of their new EEL series. Unlike some of their other EEL connectors, there is no special locking weather seal so this really is just a branding thing. But the connections are tight and the build quality is solid. Bottom line, if you want something you can trust to be left unattended without worry of failure under normal usage, this is the adaptor for you.

Adapter for Generator to Regular Extension Cord
I plug this adapter into my generator and twist it to lock it in. Then I plug in a regular 3-prong extension cord into the other end of the adapter. Works excellent with 20 or 30 amp extension cords to run my refrigerator/freezers, or surge protector with the flatscreen tv, cable box, modem, router, and oscillating fan. A heavy duty, well-functioning product which I recommend.

We need more power Captain! Plug us IN!
Needed to get some shore power to the boat to keep the battery charged, so I head to a chain boat store and found this item....but then something inside me said resist the urge for immediate gratification and check Amazon. Good thing I did, it was $20 less! As for the product, works great, does what it says. Plugs in and locks as stated. Great quality, it has been punished by the weather and sun, and even survived a slight tug due to inexperienced deck hands.

Great Quality
Well made and works perfectly to convert shore power to a regular extension cord. I have a pontoon boat. Use it for pressure washer, battery tender in the slip.
