Excellent, enjoyable film
Sally Potter has captured Virginia Woolf's novel highlighting the blurring of gender beautifully. Although she puzzingly omits some key elements of the book, such as Orlando's & the Duke/Duchess cross-dressing and changes the sex of Orlando's child, Potter's brilliant choice of cast visually replicates Woolf 's aim: for the reader/viewer to challenge stereotypical gender preconceptions. The film is very 'watchable' visually, Swinton is an excellent Orlando - as Quentin Crisp is an excellent Queen...

First rate classic.
First time I watched this film was when I was 15. Many years have passed since then and where some films dont age well with time, this is not one of those irrespective of being a period piece. It is quirky in places but sumptious and mesmerising.

Orlando
This is a really interesting take on the original novel by V. Woolf. It remains true to the novel but also speaks to a modern audience as shown by the ending which varies from the novel.

5 stars for the actual film but only 3 for this Blu-ray edition. It isn't as sharp as it should be on this disc as it seems the same quality as the DVD version.
