Simple replacement
Iโve had my Watts hot water circulation system for about 3 years. For the last few months it has not been working as well and noticed it was taking longer for hot water to arrive. Thought it might be the colder winter we had. Not that. Pump was running normally so I assumed the transfer valve was the culprit. Ordered and replaced and it solved the problem. Not too excited that the simple valve failed in less that 3 years. Hopefully this one will last longer.

Needs Occasional Replacement
Not sure what causes this valve to stop functioning at same temperature differential as it does when first installed, but it only takes about 15 minutes to replace old one with new. Price is a consideration, but out of 3 valves, only one in the far guest bathroom needed replacing after about 3 years. Have not needed to replace the Watts recirculating pump, and using this system has consistently provided hot water just seconds after turning the tap on. Very pleased with this system.

Bad/false description: No water lines included
From the product details tab: โSIMPLE DESIGN: Equipped with two 12" supply lines with adapter fittings, this replacement sensor valve has a simple design that makes it easy to install and replace, requiring no additional components.โ It does not include waterlines nor adapters. Very disappointing. I purposely bought this one because it APPEARS to be from Watts and I didnโt want to take a chance on a knock off valve (that also advertise that water lines are included) when it comes to my plumbing. What I got was a valve in a plastic bag. Thatโs it.

Still the Same Replacement Valve
It works. Symptom: Very hot water circulating in cold line, not just warm. Solution: Replace Watts / Grundfos temp valve (this part). Result: Normal quicker hot water, sometimes a little warm water from the cold for a moment. Evaluation: Normal, all good. A few of suggestions: 1. Buy all new hoses. 2. Have tools ready to change the hoses - on the faucet too! Have a flashlight handy too! 3. Have a tray or bucket to catch water under sink and some towels you don't care about so much. 4. Turn off the house water valve, then open all the taps, espacially the lowest, to drain water. 5. BE PREPARED TO REPACK YOUR SHUTOFF VALVES UNDER THE SINK!!! Have a repack kit with new washer 6. BE PREPARED TO PICK OUT BITS OF OLD HARD SHUTOFF VALVE WASHER THAT PROBABLY CLOGGED THIS VALVE. 7. Clean it all, repack your shutoffs, check your hoses. 8. With good shutoffs at the under-sink, you can fix any minor leaks in your installation 9. Do this in working hours when the hardware store is open 10. Turn on, check for leacks, and BLEED air out of every tap. Bits of hard old shutoff valve killed my valve of the same type and model, which lasted about ten years. I hope that this one does better.

Wished I had replaced this valve sooner!
Works great. Wish I had replaced the other one sooner. The first one came with the instant hot water pump. This brings warm water to our upstairs bathroom in no time, saving us a lot of wasted water and the money to pay for that water.

Perfect replacement
Perfect replacement for our hot water circulation system. Old valve had failed and this one took 10 minutes to replace.

Having an extra one on hand is needed.
For the Watts recirculating pump to work you need one of these sensor valve at the furthest point for the whole system to work. If instant hot water is desired this is one way to do it and probably the most cost-effective. Pros: This sensor valve was easy to install if there is plenty of room to work under the sink. You do get the sense that you have instant hot water. Cons: For just a valve it's quite expensive and then there is a slight water hammering when the sensor is in the Open state. When the valve is open the cold water bleeds to the hot water side making the hot water warm instead of hot. Until the sensor valve closes you'll have to be happy with warm water. The fix for this is to run the pump for 15 minutes or more. In the end this valve is required cause without it the Watts Recirculating pump would not work effectively.

Just what I needed.
My instant hot water system was not working after it had been installed two years ago. Thought it was the pump but saw a Youtube video about what causes these problems. Changed out this valve and problem solved. There was a bunch of gunk built up in the old valve. Took about 10 minutes to replace.

Works Great
Works great, Have used this for almost 2 years with no problems. My house has two sensors in the house, one in the kitchen and one in the upstairs bathroom. My only concern is continually supplied warm water until a check valve was installed near the pump (thermo syphon). This check valve should have been built into the valve OR indicated in the valve literature.

Fantastic product works like a charm
Originally bought the Navien navicirc recirculation valve as I had just installed a Navien water heater the water heater is great but the navicirc valve was horrible it howled like a cat in heat. Left all plumbing the same just installing the watts valve works perfectly very happy with my purchase. Valve on left is watts 1/2 the size of navicirc right

Impossible to create a water tight connection
there is a grove that runs across each of the threads, preventing a water tight connection. The sensor valve that came with the pump kit did not have the grove and worked perfectly. When I received the items, I put teflon tape on the threads as I do with water connections. Unfortunately, that covered the groves and so I wasted 3 hours trying additional teflon tape and finally, plumbers paste. When I gave up and took the tape off, I realized why the connections leaked. This may be a knock off product as the original valve was fine.

Works well, get the proper reducers
Would be 5 stars but the price to quality ratio doesnโt meet anymore. Still does the job. Will see for how long
