You take the little plastic out that sticks out at the back. So that makes the battery work. Next pull the pin out from the side and the alarm will sound. To stop the alarm you just need to put the pin back in. Hope this helps. You can put the little plastic back in if are not using it. It will save the battery as that is what it works off.

Do their come in separate boxes, cause I want them for diffent people?

The alarms do NOT come in separate boxes. They are loose inside the main packaging, Just as the illustration. They are easy to wrap as a small stocking filler and much less package wastage.
