**Q: What metal is the bracket made of?**
A: Based, on my being able to bend the metal brackets to fit better around the post, it is a soft iron blend similar to the white metal angle brackets.

**Q: Will this work on a 1 1/2" diameter pole? What is the distance between the 2 slots?**
A: Will not work on a 1 1/2" pole.
I used a 1 5/8" diameter pole, still, put mine in a vise and bent it it fit my post. 
Works perfectly.
Space between the slots is a little over 1".

**Q: Does it come with a hose clamp? If not will a standard hose clamp work?**
A: No they do not come with hose clamps. Yes any standard clamp will work.

**Q: is the hole threaded? if so, what are the specs (thread size/pitch) for that? does it come with a bolt?**
A: Yes it is and it dies come with a 1/2" x 5/16 × 18 bolt
