A bit noisy but otherwise works just fine
Nice and easy to work with. I have purchased the shiny one by mistake but that’s okay.A bit too noisy for my preferences but I can live with it.It is not as fast boiling as my previous one and the measuring line is on the inside.

OK kettle but what were they thinking with this lid?
Boils very fast. Noise about average for a kettle. Did not want or need the plastic extras (spout filter and cup indicators at bottom) so personally removed them, so yes they are removable with a bit of elbow grease.Would have preferred a steel lid too but this does not affect my review, just a hint to Russell Hobbs that there is quite good demand out there for plastic free kettles, which is surprisingly not met by any major manufacturer that I am aware of as of yet.The lid is very often tricky to lift due to the design of it. Not sure how this could be resolved but I would say Russell Hobbs should scrap that lid design. The ultimate save would be to send out better lids to everyone who bought this kettle, but that is just a dream...Anyway it is a decent kettle, lid aside.

Basic kettle but some annoying features
This is a basic and inexpensive kettle so comments should be taken in that context. I find the lack of a warning on/off light irritating, as is the non-hinged lid which always drips over the work surfaces. It is OK but no more.

Its cable isn't short, at all
Saw a few reviews pointing out the issue of the cable length, and here is the answer. It's a basic kettle, it's certainly noisy, and it just did its job. I happened to need one more so other than the brushed version I have been using for almost 2 years, I bought this polished one as well.

Great value
Works fine but very thin metal.

It boils water!
My old electric kettle had sprung a leak so was dangerous to use and I needed a replacement in a hurry. This was my rather rapid choice, and I'm not disappointed with it.The only minor downside I've found so far is that the lid isn't easy to grip for removal to refill the kettle unless the lid and your fingers are spotlessly clean and free from grease. My solution was to stick a small strip of the furry side of black Velcro to either side of the lid handle. Had the sides been textured and/or a little more concave, this wouldn't have been necessary. That said, it works and appears to be of reasonably sturdy construction by modern standards. If I don't come back to edit this review, assume it's still working. For now, I'm giving it the thumbs-up.

Britischer Stecker
