I am not a saxophone player, I've never played a saxophone before and until this arrived I'd never even held a saxophone! So I guess I'm the ideal target buyer for this complete beginners saxophone set from Sonicake. I am however a fairly accomplished guitar player and drummer, have gigged and recorded extensively since 1978 band I've reached the stage now where I fancy trying some completely new instruments. I'm very familiar with Sonicake as I own several of their multi-effects processors that I use for both practice and occasional gigging. Sonicake are fast getting a solid reputation for making quality gear at very low prices and as with their guitar processors this saxophone set is testament to that. You get absolutely everything you need to begin learning the saxophone aside from lessons or decent instructions! All the kit is here and includes the saxophone, reeds, neck strap, cleaning cloths, gloves and a sturdy protective carry case. The saxophone itself looks and feels superb. It's well built, has a good weight to it and really looks the part.. shiny and imposing, a real attention grabber. Obviously I don't have a professional saxophone to compare it side by side but from initial impressions this really does come across as top quality. With the strap in place it feels very well balanced, All the keys/valves or whatever they're called are very fluid and require the minimum of pressure to get the required movement. OK, as stated I'm a complete beginner but when testing it the sound is great.. it sounds just like a saxophone or at least how I've always understood a saxophone to sound. It's a lot louder than I expected as well. I've been online looking up how to play scales and notes and I have to admit it comes across as incredibly complicated, so sounds I have been producing are a long way off from sounding anywhere near decent! But it's all about the learning and the practicing which takes time and effort. I'm self taught on guitar and drums but the saxophone is definitely an instrument I need serious tuition to get to grips with. But I will persevere and hopefully make slow but positive progress as the saxophone is an instrument I've always fancied playing. Looking around online saxophones can come in very expensive so while this does seem a bit pricy at first glance, the workmanship, quality and the complete package that's included it does represent excellent value for money. Plus you're buying from a superb up and coming brand who I'm more than happy to endorse. So this is an excellent quality Eb alto saxophone with all the kit to get you started right out of the box. I'm now off to try and learn the Pink Panther theme. I may be some time!

As a complete saxophone beginner, it is difficult to really rate this particular saxophone as I don't really have any comparison, but it seems pretty good for starting out on. The saxophone comes with pretty much everything you need to get stated apart from cork grease, which I have bought separately. The instrument comes in a nice sturdy carry case, which can contain all the pieces. The saxophone itself is quite heavy and there is a strap which is attached to help hold it up. Somehow, when I was trying to play it, the strap kept coming unclipped by itself, and I almost dropped it a few times. I not sure how it was happening to be honest, but I don't think the strap should be able to unhook itself. It is quite low in cost for a saxophone, but I can't really say if it is worth it over a higher end model. It does make quite a nice sound, and it is very loud, and I am quite happy with it as a complete beginner.

An excellent beginner friendly saxophone set The saxophone came really well packaged, nothing was damaged, all components were neatly protected and easy to unpack Striaght out the box, the quality feels excellent, it’s solid and well made, great value for money considering the price, the brass finish and mechanics are sturdy and reliable. The ease of use is excellent, the included mouthpiece, reeds, and accessories make getting started straightforward, even for absolute beginners The design is classic and stylish, with a smooth gold finish that looks much more expensive than its £316 price tag. Overall, it offers great value for money, giving aspiring saxophonists a complete, enjoyable setup without breaking the bank.

This turned out to be an great instrument for a student performer in youth orchestra. After a month of the student playing this saxophone in the orchestra, we asked the conductor/teacher for his expert opinion on the instrument’s quality and performance. “I am a professional saxophone player and educator of 40+ years. One of my students recently started playing the Sonicake Alto Saxophone in the symphonic and jazz orchestra and I was pleasantly surprised at the sound. He’s been playing it for a month and here’s what I think about the horn: Pros: 1. The horn came well packed for travel with all the keys locked in position with cork to prevent misalignment. 2. It has good weight. It feels comparable to other quality student model horns or bigger brands. The metal is a nice weight which helps with the tone quality. 3. It plays well. My student gets a very good sound, (student uses a high-quality mouthpiece) in the upper and lower range of the horn. 4. It comes with a nice case. Cons: 1. The mouthpiece needs to be pushed in all the way in on the cork to be in tune. It’s very flat in the “normal” position on the neck. Even with a quality mouthpiece, the intonation was wonky if not pushed in all the way. We eventually found the sweet spot when the mouthpiece is pushed in as far as it can go. This will eventually cause the cork to be damaged and it will need to be changed sooner than normal. Overall, it’s a good student horn and my student loves it.”

Il sax è fatto davvero bene: la laccatura oro è uniforme e curata nei dettagli, con una finitura elegante che dà subito un’ottima impressione. Anche al tatto si percepisce una struttura solida e ben assemblata. La meccanica risulta fluida, i tasti rispondono in modo preciso e l’intera struttura è rigida e stabile, senza giochi o parti che danno sensazione di fragilità. Dal punto di vista sonoro, offre un suono molto buono, cristallino e definito, con una bella proiezione sia nei registri bassi che in quelli più acuti. L’intonazione è stabile e soprattutto non ci sono dispersioni di fiato, elemento fondamentale per chi sta studiando e vuole sviluppare un’emissione corretta. Il kit è davvero completo e rappresenta un grande valore aggiunto: la custodia rigida protegge perfettamente lo strumento durante il trasporto, mentre il treppiedi incluso è comodissimo sia per lo studio a casa sia durante le pause, evitando appoggi improvvisati che potrebbero danneggiarlo. Avere tutto incluso nella confezione permette di iniziare subito senza ulteriori acquisti. In conclusione, è uno strumento ideale per studenti e principianti che cercano un sassofono affidabile, ben costruito e con un’ottima resa sonora. Tra qualità costruttiva e accessori inclusi, offre davvero un ottimo rapporto qualità-prezzo.

En esta ocasión me ha llegado para poder probar este saxofon de la marca Sonicake. Viene en una caja de cartón y dentro está todo guardado en un práctico estuche, donde queda todo perfectamente recogido y protegido. El paquete de ventas se compone de * 1 x Saxofón alto * 1 x Estuche de transporte * 1 x Boquilla * 6 x Lengüetas * 1 x Collarín * 1 x Soporte * 1 x Guantes blancos * 1 x Accesorios Por lo que viene con todo lo necesario para poder probarlo según nos llegue. Está fabricado en latón y lacado dorado, con un diseño elegante e incrustaciones en imitación-nácar. Tiene un diseño y peso, ideal para principiantes y estudiantes. Yo la verdad no tengo ni idea de tocarlo, pero en cuanto al diseño ya sorprende y tiene todas las características que se necesitan. Si te estás adentrando en este mundillo, os lo recomiendo, porque sin duda tiene una calidad/precio fenomenal.

Saxophone livré dans un étui rigide , avec son trépied. Le saxophone est également livré avec plusieurs anches de remplacement et son kit de nettoyage. La finition du saxophone est très bonne, tout les mécanismes sont bloqué pour la livraison par des petits morceaux de liège. Une fois tout enlevé, on peut alors actionner les mécanismes fluides, les valves étanches.etc.. Le corps du saxophone présente une légère gravure florale qui ajoute un peu à l'ensemble. Le saxophone sonne bien, permet à un débutant de découvrir de façon abordable le saxophone. L'étui rigide est de très bonne qualité. Tout a son emplacement et rien ne bouge une fois fermé.
