Ad says clear & later it says translucent. They are translucent, but if it matters, they are NOT clear; explanation within
The ad pictures clear and says clear early-on, that's inaccurate! The ad also says translucent at the end, and that is true. These are loaded with little molded-in bubbles end-to end ; it's like looking into a fish tank with rows and rows of bubbles in suspension. The bubbles, in my opinion, serve no purpose and many users may find them OK in their own situation and these pads WILL BE effective as sticky pads, so I have no reservations on that point. In my application I require clear and these are not, so mine are being returned. Absent the bubbles they would have been what I needed, to those that don't care these will work for fine as non-slip surfaces. [Addendum: someone may wonder why my return over this? When placed on the dash the bubbles will cause refractions of sunlight when the pad is empty (all or in part). Each bubble is capable of refracting it's own individual beam of sunlight at the angle it was hit in relation to the driver or passenger and for me that's just too many possibilities (approx. 700± opportunities). Even the end of the pad that is free of bubbles is shiny enough that it will refract, but that's just one refraction for that area whereas the bubbles are circular and each make many angles possible. Of course if something is always stuck in place, even better if fully covering the pad, then this business of reflecting is a moot point. If you wear polarized (anti-glare) glasses or sunglasses that helps cope with this effect]

non-slip, but not as sticky as some...
Unlike some of the other commenters, I found these pas to be good for "no-slip" applications, but not really sticky enough to stick something to a wall or anything greater than a 45 degree slope. I had intended to use these to stick my phone to a battery pack, but the stick just isn't strong enough to hold the two items together. Other previously purchased pads were able to hold them together no problem. And yes, I tried all 4 pads, and washed/dried them and still just not sticky.

Maybe a bit too sticky?
First, they are sticky. Anything you put on them will not slip or slide. But, that also has a downside, Anything you put on them will also pull the pad up when you pick up said device. I've flipped them to see if one side is stickier than the other, but no such luck.Maybe when the tops get a bit more dirty it will grip less, but still prevent sliding.A side note, the do seem to get a bit mushy in the summer heat, but when it's 115 out what doesn't. That may be a Phoenix only problem.

Not very sticky after the 1st few uses
Not very sticky after the 1st few uses. I've had several types of these, this one is a bit flimsy and after 2-3 uses the adhesive works less. Even though you can rinse them in water to get the adhesive to replenish, you shouldn't have to do it so rapidly. You should be able to get at least a few weeks of use out of them before this happens.Update: I think these are overall horrible. I've had another version of this that worked far better. I think I am most annoyed with the fact that after a few uses it not only won't stick but starts to come off and stick to the back of your phone. EVERY day. There's no amount of rinsing that can fix it.

PUT IT ON SOMETHING SMOOTH AND IT AND THE OBJECT STAYS GREAT.
THESE ARE THINNER THAT I EXPECTED. THEY DO NOT STICK TO TEXTURED SURFACES. PUT IT ON SOMETHING SMOOTH AND IT AND THE OBJECT STAYS GREAT.

Overall works like described.
I used these at home for non-heated surfaces and they work great. I'm hesitant to use in the car because it does look as if the plastic would melt. They do collect dust but if you wash it the dust comes right off.

It's thin and after several weeks it lost it's tackiness. It could be because I use it in a hot car.

Don't keep it in the sun.
This works really well and if it gets dirty/dusty just wash it off with some water. BUT it will melt in the hot sun if you use it in your car. Even if it's in a shaded area, the heat will cause it to melt overtime. Cleanup isn't a big issue as a microfibre cloth and car cleaner will remove residue.

difficult to stick flat as it tends to stick to itself easily!
Amazingly sticky so it works well holding my phone on the car dash, but also very thin, difficult to stick flat as it tends to stick to itself easily!
