Almost as good sounding at AT - I have to admit, I was very skeptical ... and a bit afraid ... to try this. I have a Fluance RT81, which unfortunately doesn't match with the Ortefon Red I wanted ... so I am pretty much stuck with the AT stylus. Most of my record collection is expensive, so I was skeptical about using a non-branded needle, until I read some of the other reviews. This is an easy replacement and you shouldn't need to adjust the tracking or counterweight, if you are using an AT stylus. You can simply unscrew the cartridge, pull down on the stylus and replace it in a matter of seconds. If you were to purchase a new AT stylus, since the change, you'd need a screwdriver and a few minute to recalibrate the tone arm ... but this is just an easy pop on upgrade. The sound isn't quite as good as an actual AT stylus, but not too far off. The needle is an upper end beginner stylus, so you aren't going to notice the difference too much. I have put up some pictures showing the difference between the OEM AT stylus and this one. The color of the needle is different and the tip looks a little less large ... but overall, it look as similar. I do wonder how much the quality of the metal in each varies ... as I got almost 5 years of play out of my AT needle before it started to skip. We'll see how long this one holds up. So far, it hasn't skipped, unless the record was old. I noticed on a 1955 Sun record, there were a few skips with this needle, something which never bothered my stock AT stylus. I hope my pictures and honest review, after actually having used the product, was helpful to you.

Skeptic sold ... Almost as good sounding at AT
