A very disappointing experience. Out of the box the mechanism was jammed solid. Annoyingly this does not become fully apparent until the unit is installed on the door and turns out to be completely jammed. I notice that another reviewer had the same issue and solved it by putting the mechanism in a bench vice and bashing it with a hammer. Well, for me, this is an unacceptable state of affairs and I was not inclined to try that tactic. It also becomes apparent quickly that the supplied instructions are incomprehensible and inadequate. They only seem to cater for a door which opens inwards. If your door happens to open outwards you will be facing no fitting instructions and no template for the screws. A plate for a parallel mounting is provided but there are no instructions or template to explain how to fit it. I had no choice but to return the item which is not fit for purpose.

This is a well made and easy to install automatic door closer that offers good overall value. It arrived securely packaged in a plain box and included everything needed for a complete installation, along with an easy to follow instructions manual and a helpful template. Overall build quality feels solid and durable, thanks to its aluminum construction and a smooth finish. I chose the white version, which blends nicely with my kitchen door. Installation was actually straightforward and took me under 20 minutes to complete. However, Initially, the mechanism just didn’t work, so I removed it and checked everything before reinstalling. After that, it just functioned perfectly, so I’m not sure what caused the issue the first time. Now, it closes the door fully and operates quietly with no noticeable noise. You can also adjust closing speed using two screws on the side of the unit. Considering the reasonable price (around £23 at the time of writing this review), it’s a practical and worthwhile DIY product that I’m quite pleased with overall. 4 stars!

I ordered this for our bathroom door but ended up fitting it on our back door. This was because our bathroom goes immediately down a step as you enter and the ceiling is level with the top of the door so this product wouldn't work. An oversight on my part and our weird old house design but it has worked flawlessly on the back door. It is far more compact and sleek looking than the old design you particularly see in commercial settings. It's around a quarter of the size. It operates very quietly and smoothly. Fitting was easy thanks to the detailed instructions (slight translation errors but understandable) with drill/screw hole template for both left and right hinge fitting. There was an additional leaflet explaining that the different frame to door depths will require different installations so keep an eye out for that. There are two adjustment speeds - one for the majority of the movement and the second for the final closing to latch.

Strong, well made and suitably heavy, gives you real confidence in the product. 5 stars. The weight and construction of this immediately inspire confidence, heavy strong metal with well put together joins and a fairly compact footprint compared to some door closers. Easy to fit, just screw into place on the door and frame. Unless you have a noticeably uneven door and frame the alignment should be straightforward, though it does have adjustment built in if your door and frame aren't perfectly aligned. It has two adjustments, one controls how quickly or slowly the door closes, the other controls the power of the final pull that draws the door into the frame. Get those right and the door shuts cleanly and quietly every time without slamming. Suits doors up to 45kg and 900mm wide. At £22.99 at time of review the price seems fair for the quality and construction.

I got this in black, which is not listed as of this writing. It is a compact unit. The cylinder is about 4.5 inches long, and the whole thing is around 5.5 inches, so it doesn’t look bulky on the door. It came with an installation guide and a template, which made the process straightforward. The size worked well for my kitchen door, and it didn’t feel heavy or oversized. Installing it was simple, but when I first tried to open the door, the lever wouldn’t budge. At first, I thought the product might be faulty. I ended up taking it off and holding it in a bench vice, then gave the lever a few gentle taps with a rubber mallet. That loosened it up, and after reinstalling, everything worked as it should. With a little adjustment to the two side screws, the door now closes smoothly and quietly. There’s no slamming or banging, and the closing speed is just right—not too fast or slow. The mechanism doesn’t make any noise, so it’s not disruptive. The hold-open feature is handy when you want the door to stay open for a moment. There’s no stickiness in the movement; it feels steady and reliable. For the price, I think it offers good value. The quality seems solid, and it does exactly what you expect once it’s working properly. Just be aware you might have to do a little extra to get it started, but after that, it’s been smooth sailing.
