Perfect for my needs!
I use this midi controller to record instruments using Mixcraft 6. I also use it to practice keyboard when traveling. I can pack it in my suitcase and I usually travel with my laptop anyway, so it works out well.I had purchased the Akai Pro LPK 25 but returned it due to a defective port. The Masterkey 25 is less expensive, has almost full size keys (they feel a hair short to me), and works better for my uses. It also has a more sturdy printer-type usb port, a Jack for a sustain pedal and a modulation wheel, all which the Akai did not offer.Note: another reviewer mentions latency problems. I have no problem with delay, and in my experience it's usually the PC's sound card or incorrect settings that cause latency issues.

don't work......
Immpossible to record with in real time. A long delay between each note played. Don't buy this product. I sent it back and lost money on the deal...

Great little keyboard, no problems!
This is the first midi keyboard I have ever owned, so I certainly can't say I know a whole lot about them. But before buying, I did a lot of research into this and similar keyboards. I found that this one offered the most features for the fairest price. This keyboard is very small, which is one big reason I bought it. I wanted something that could sit on my desk and be out of the way when not in use. Obviously this has some drawbacks; you can't really play it like a piano and have a decent range. You can change the octave the notes play in, so you still have a wide range available to you, just not simultaneously. If I had the space for one of the larger models, I would love to get one. But for now, this little guy does all I need.Like all inexpensive keyboards, the keys aren't weighted, which doesn't bother me. The keys do have a fair amount of velocity sensitivity, more than other keyboards I have played. The whole thing is made completely out of plastic, which was to be expected. But it does seem pretty sturdy. As long as you treat it like you should it shouldn't sustain much, in any, permanent damage. The pitch shift wheel is really nice, and it springs back to center quite smoothly. The modulation wheel operates differently and is much looser with no spring, allowing you to leave it in the desired position. My keyboard also came with a copy of Presonus Artist. Originally, that had impacted my decision to buy this particular model, but soon after settling I got a different DAW. I've had it for almost a year now, and I honestly haven't used Presonus Artist yet. I'll test it out after I upgrade my computer.Overall, I think this is a great deal for a nice midi keyboard. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for one in this price range.

Incredibly bad drivers. Sometimes they just don't work and won't until I restart my PC A FEW TIMES.The only good thing is that it works fine once it actually becomes visible in DAW.

Exactly what I needed: a compact, very functional keyboard that works with my music scoring program.

awesome deal
Best thing is presonus studio one artist yes artist not prime. You will be able to upgrade to latest version . Controller works fine on win 10 , and studio one. Need more keys if you plan on doing involved work. But for me this enough for my use. Its a nice deal.

The best at this price range!!
Great entry level midi keyboard for the price. Right out of the package i plugged it into my USB port( its USB powered), within a minute it was ready to use(it did install a driver but it was automatically, like you do when you buy a new mouse or keyboard). I used this keyboard with Reason 5, i set it as my main master keyboard and it worked flawless, didnt even have to configure the modulation, volume know, or pitch bend. It came with Studio One, but i cannot comment much on that since i use Reason and i didnt take much time to mess with it, but it looked like a solid DAW and simple to use. If you're looking for a cheap midi keyboard to start learning then look no further!!!!... not many keyboards have pitch and modulation wheels at this price range....Oh and that other review about latency issues, it is definitely your sound card. I always select my Line 6 UX1 interface as my sound card, although you can try to mess with buffer. But note delays its a symptom of bad buffer and/or sound card. This keyboard is flawless.
