Vac&Stack Mason jar Vac Lids 5-Pk (Regular with Pump)

Have to be strong to use this vacuum pump, but it does work. The lids are small, they don't fit a regular mason jar. Had to buy smaller jars for lids to fit. IT would have been nice if this was mentioned in product description.

This product is a phenomenal invention! - Just place the vac lid on top of the jar and suck the air out from the jar with the vacuum pump. A free vacuum hose adapter is also available with the order, which you can attach to the port of your electric vacuum machine. Immediately after you place your order, write the seller to send you the vacuum hose adapter if you want to use it with your vacuum machine. - I prefer the manual vacuum pump because it fits into our kitchen drawer and it is always at hand. I recommend that you gently press down the button on the lid before you start pumping. This ensures that the O-ring under the button is snug and seals well. Once you evacuate the air from the jar, you can store your juice, fresh fruit and other food items for several days, significantly extending their freshness. The seller was very friendly, and highly cooperative. He went out of his way to develop a new product for us, a vacuum stopper for Traders Point milk bottles, in which we store citrus and green juices. Additionally, he also developed flat-bottom lids where he laid a rubber gasket over the entire area of the lid which provides excellent airtight seal on top of regular mouth jars or smaller diameter bottles like a milk jar. This flat bottom vac lid is especially advantageous for storing lemon juice because without the flat rubber gasket the lid tends to release the vacuum after some time. Lemon juice is oily, and it makes the brim of the jar slippery. The flat rubber gasket solves this problem in an elegant way. We are very happy with both the products and the service. I bought these as a stop gap because I didn't want to buy a new vac sealer. Let's just say that my experience with this sorta fix inspired me to buy a new vac sealer and bottle adapter.

This was a surprise. I didn't expect much for the price. I use it a lot and feel it helps keep many things fresh in kitchen and freezer that used to get stale. I recommend it. If not sure how to use, look at Youtube.
