Tastes like coconut
Interesting nuts. Soak them in water to soften them a little. They taste just like coconut, and the water after soaking tastes like coconut water too. I'd think these could be used in a coconut recipe. These nuts came from the ground but are peeled clean and without soil. The nuts are rather hard even after soaking, so be mindful of dental work.

Delicious but fibrous (prepare to chew) little devils
They are sweet and nutty most similar to coconut. Eaten right out the bag requires a chewing commitment more than almonds kinda like raw coconut. Very sweet and quickly addictive. I’m glad I tried them, the high fiber high nutrition profile make them a nice nut alternative. I’m soaking some and will try those tomorrow, but straight of the bag is great ( an occasional “nut” tasted a little stale, but the bag is mostly fine). I can see how they’d make a great horchata. Not sure I’d pack any for the afterlife like the Egyptians, but they’re a tasty treat for the living.

Packaged well
These tiger nuts are quite al dente, so you will definitely need to soak them overnight or boil them for a long time. They are quite tasty though, if you like tiger nuts. If you've never tried them, don't be surprised if they seem starchy and bland. That's how all tiger nuts are. After a whiule you will begin to appreciate the subtly nuttinessn mild sweet aftertaste, and interesting texture.

If you haven't tried a tiger nut yet, you're missing out
I was only driven to discover tiger nuts when I went on an autoimmune diet to try to discover hidden allergies but I love these! I can't believe these aren't in every local supermarket they are so good! The best way to eat (drink) these is as Horchata (many recipes online and incredibly delicious!) but I save the flour after making the Horchata and add it to baked goods for lots of healthful benefits. Tiger nuts are not only one of the least reactive foods to Americans, but also have great vitamins and fiber. They have a milky taste to me, and I prefer them soaked overnight than eaten straight from the bag, but they are a great addition to salads, as a nut substitute, as a quick snack, etc. You don't have to have allergies to try these so if you're here wondering if you should try them, I would strongly recommend them for anyone!

Pleasantly surprised
I'm pretty picky when it comes to eating anything. I was pleasantly surprised that these tasted like chewy almonds. I happen to see these on YouTube as an edible weed and I just wanted to see what they tasted like. These are definitely something to look at if you want something I guess easy to plant and so and store for a rainy day. I usually feel like if stuff is any good we'd already be eating it. It's not a cashew by any means but it's definitely I'm sitting here smacking on it it ain't too bad.

It's hard to like something you're not sure you should eat
I've only tried a few small portions, maybe 10 at a time a few times. However, more than once there were 1 or 2 nuts that tasted like mold. Maybe they were not dried all the way before packaging? (They are well within the expiration date by 10 months.) After a couple times I just don't feel like testing every one before chewing a few and they're going in the trash because there are no refunds. It's too bad there's not an option to get a replacement product so I can see what it's like to really enjoy them without worrying. Great potential product for limited diets, but not for someone who has mold allergies plus it just tastes nasty.

Best new food item I discovered in 2025!
I love these things and so glad I found them. I have a lot of allergies and sensitivities. I love using these to make milk with my nama milk maker. I mix with hempseeds. And it is great using that milk for an occassional yummy cup of hot cocoa.

Rancid
I’ve been enjoying the tiger nut flour from this brand, but the whole peeled nuts must sit on the shelf a lot longer than the flour. These smelled bad right out of the bag, even though the expiration date is still in the future. Of course I tried them just to be sure, and they really upset my stomach. Not good for those of us trying to heal from digestive distress. Plus terrible taste. Flour was fine but these were gross!!
