Liberty PumpsSJ10A 1-1/2-Inch Discharge SumpJet Water Powered Back-Up Pump with Alarm

Our basement flooded that we had just completed and we didn't have a "back up system". Couple of our friends suggested this one that ties into your city water and only would get used if the power went out. I am hopeful that it will work the set up wasn't bad lot of pvc pipe depending on where you want it to route to. Fingers cross it works during a storm, we did test it and it all worked fine.I only gave it a 4 star bc we haven't put it to the test yet and hopefully won't but we will see.

I purchased and installed this unit at a rental property that was at risk during power outages. I only got headaches from it. The tenants would call and complain that the high water alarm kept going off during a dry summer. Condensation would form on the probe and set it off. I would wipe it dry and it would be ok for a day. Imagine that in a sump pumppit. I ended up disabling the alarm because I got so many calls. The last draw was when the primary pump failed and the liberty pump activated but only discharged the city "power" water. I took the inlet filter and check valve out, found no problems, tested it and it still would not draw the pit water out. This backup system is unreliable.

Sensor permanently attached ,which is inconvenient. Alarm starts when your main sump pump starts working. Do not recommend to buy this model.Better option is SJ10 without alarm . Alarm you can buy separately and attach as you need, and for less $

this is great. Powered my sump pump after losing power for 7 days after Katrina. Did the job as advertised and saved my basement from flooding. If I had a battery back up it would have been out after 24 hrs. However, I have not yet seen my water bill after a week of this thing running regularly!

This pump is excellent! Very satisfied with the produce and received the item in excellent time. Now i can relax knowing i have a system that will function while the power is out.

I had this installed professionally, Using city water pressure, and it would not suck anything out of my sump pit. The plumber called liberty to confirm it was indeed installed properly. I had to pay $15 to return the item, after my return was approved. I have yet to receive my $300 refund.

Excellent choice.

the pump works very well... the only issue is the out flow pipe ends with an elbow and points up in our case it had to go straight for one feet before going up. we had take the pipe up and bring it down then up again... otherwise the pipe performance is excelent compared to what we've had before..
