I find this works very well. I use it when I am not 100% if someone else may have watered them or I can't remember if I have done it. Have killed so many plants by overwatering them that I now err on the side of caution. I have been using it for over a year with no problems. I wait a full 10 minutes for an accurate reading and always wipe clean after each use. P.S. I haven't lost any plants since I bought this!

Seems to work but hard to compare with reality.

I repotted a number of my houseplants and was struggling to work out how wet the soil was. It is a really useful tool, that makes it easy to know when is the right time to water pot plants. I ordered a different brand of moisture meter before this one and it stopped working after a couple of months. This is a replacement for it. I've had it for around two weeks and it seems to be working well. I found out after the other one broke that you are not to leave it in the soil and clean it after use. I'm following this advice and I'm hoping this one will last longer. :-)

During lock down I have really been getting into growing my own food, some of it in pots, such as tomatoes and herbs and I worried whether I was watering them correctly. I looked at the various models of moisture detectors on Amazon and narrowed my choice down to this model for the following reasons: The face of the meter is angled meaning that it's easy to see from above so I don't have to get down on my hands and knees on the patio as I would with other models - with my arthritic knee that's no easy job! Most other models are three in one, incorporating PH and light detectors, but reviews indicat that these aren't particularly accurate. I just wanted to know about the moisture level of my plants and if I needed to water them and that's what these does. I deliberately watered some plants and left others for a day of so to test the readings and found the results to be what I expected. The recently watered plant read wet, the one watered the day before was moist towards wet and the one watered two days before read moist towards dry. I now check the moisture level every day before watering and feel confident I am getting it right.

I’m not a great gardener but when my pots weren’t doing well I wasn’t sure if I was over or under watering them as the soil felt just right. This solved the problem and has been so useful with inside plants too. I’d highly recommend this.

Does not work at all. Shows as moist when dry or watered.

I have a different variety of plants and each one needs different care. I use this meter to see if the soil is moist or if they are dry and i should water them. Very handy for someone who does not have a green thumb.

Seems to be accurate. It is very easy to read. I originally bought two, one for work and one for home, a tip fell off one, so I replaced it. It's a great help to not over water.

Use to measure plant soil water levels. It has helps in determining how dry or moist your plant soil is between waterings.
