Really works!
This stuff really works! When I moved into my new apartment we had water in our basement. The place is old (almost 100 years) and there isn't much you can do to repair water getting into your basement unless you want to completely redo the whole thing. Since we couldn't afford a dehumidifier on our budget we decided to give these a try. So glad we did! They work well with getting moisture out of the air and help keep that "musty basement smell" to a minimum. I ordered 5 and put 4 in our basement and 1 in our bathroom. It helps A LOT when it rains and we get a little water in the basement, it dries it up within a few hours. It also helps our bathroom especially in the summer when it can be humid. The crystals harden together after you pour them in the top and they slowly absorb the moisture in the air. The clumping is normal and they eventually completely dissolve with the water completely filling up in the bottom. Once filled just dump in the toilet and flush. Can be easily refilled with Wm Barr FG30K 42oz DampRid Refill (most cost effective since you don't need to go out and buy the container again and can be reused) These aren't as powerful as a dehumidifier but work well for the cost. These lasted us just under 2 months and saved us money on our electric bill! Recommend to anyone looking for a cheaper alternative to a dehumidifier.

Reliable humidity control - just fill it with the refill kit and it's ready to go again.
I have a trailer in a humid climate and it's closed up while I am gone and in the past coming back "home" was kind of an eye opener with all the mildew and mould making itself at home everywhere including on the clothes in the closet and walls of the bathroom and basically every surface. My daughter-in-law introduced me to Damp Rid and I've had no problems since. It's quick, clean and easy - the refills are simple and the place smells clean. There is not flowery fragrance to have to put up with, there's just no smell left behind at all and the walls and all the places that used to attract the dampness are now dry. If you have out of control humidity - try this product, it really works and works quickly.

Closet mold
My closet is right next to the bathroom (and i live in the humid South), so lots of humidity was constantly going in where my clothes were. Plus, the bathroom fan was broken for about a year. So about a year ago, i noticed that there was mold growing up on those pants I never wear in the corner of the closet. And I poked around more and oh no, it's growing on the shoes I never wear too! So i replaced the bathroom fan. I washed/threw away all of the moldy things. And I bought a few of these and put them in the corners of the closet. I haven't tipped them over (yet) and they have been doing a great job. No more mold. Also, i noticed some mold growing on the legs of my dresser and i put another one over there and it totally worked too. They don't smell at all and I've been really pleased.

Works well in the bedroom
This has been perfect to mediate some of the humidity (especially from our own respiration) in the bedrooms. I bought three of these- one to put in each bedroom (we have an electronic dehumidifier in the living/dining room). I'm been impressed with how quickly the one in the main bedroom is filling up (after 3 weeks, there's ~2" of water at the bottom), but in the spare bedroom, there's barely any water (this makes more sense as there are people respiring in the main bedroom every night, whereas no in the spare bedroom). I've noticed less condensation on the windows and our hygrometer (what measures humidity) has indicated that the humidity has gone down by 5-10% since we got it. Even though that's not a huge amount, I think it's still significant and brings us within the range of "normal" humidity. I do not think this would be sufficient to control humidity in the bathroom, but it definitely does a good enough job in the bedrooms. I would definitely recommend for a cheaper, easy solution to controlling humidity and dampness in the house!

Use this in your attic!
I keep one of these in my attic here in the deep south. Helps keep moisture and especially odors to a minimum up there. Easy to take up there and easy to see when full. The last as expected - in the summer it lasts 3-4 months, longer in the winter.

Late dispatch
It took them forever to dispatch the product. While I was waiting for the dispatch the decrease the cost considerably. I felt cheated. I had to mail them because no stealing no details available. Anyway,it seems that it is working.

Winter Mould Battle Won!
I can’t recommend DampRid enough! I’ve got about 20 of these scattered around my house, and the difference this winter has been incredible. Usually, I’m fighting mould on the walls daily, but this year, I’ve barely noticed any. The fragrance-free option is a huge plus for me, and it’s so easy to refill when needed. Each unit absorbs a surprising amount of moisture, keeping my home feeling dry and fresh. If mould is a constant issue for you, these are an absolute game-changer. I now refill these but they're convenient to swap. Five stars for effectiveness and ease of use!
