Very efficient and quiet.'

I can only assume that the people that have rated this shredder poorly have tried to put too much paper through it at once. Knowing the propensity of shredders to jam, I think it sensible to put fewer sheets of paper than the maximum through the shredder. As such, we have had no issues with the shredder. It has comfortably dealt with the paper, and has done so much more quietly than our previous shredder.All in all, its a great shredder!EDIT:I now have two of these and after several years of owning them, have still never had a single jam. Happy days!

Sturdy machines

I have this plugged in all the time and switch it on and off as required. Please ignore all negative reviews. If you use this shredder correctly, it will perform brilliantly for you. Best product I have bought recently. The basket doesn't need to be emptied often (if you're only using it for small tasks). I chose this one at a slightly higher price because I didn't want black or grey. Fantastic!

It is supposed to do 10 sheets of 80gsm paper. It actually does 2!! When you try 3 it jams and overheats. 10???! You are having a laugh.I used it today to shred the contents of 1 A4 ring binder and it has jammed 4 times and overheated 3 times. When it overheats it is unusable for the next 15-20 minutes as it cools down.Not recommended.

Quietest shredder I've ever owned

I haven't used it too much, as I'm more of a binge cleaner but so far, so good. I used it a lot for about an hour last night - not running all the time but shredding as I sorted. It seemed to do just fine. It's a good size, bigger than your average waste paper bin. The colour goes well too.
