The best instant coffee
Years ago, I taste-tested just about every instant coffee on the market looking for "the one" and Cap Colombie (as it was then called) was it. Nothing else came close. It has a beautiful balance of strength and taste and, frankly, I prefer it to almost all of the high-end coffees I've tried, bought as actual beans and fresh-ground in my coffee-maker. Not bad for a mere instant.I see a lot of complaining here that it has changed. It hasn't. I take this coffee VERY seriously (it's my morning treat to myself and the start of my day, every day!) and all that's changed over the years has been the jar, the name (by one letter) and a couple of slight re-brandings, first becoming part of a "Nescafe Gold: Origins" range and now "Nescafe Gold Blend: Cap Colombia." The coffee inside the jar has remained the same, and I'd be the first to kick off if it had changed in any way. On the downside, in the latest re-branding they took the opportunity to rob us of 5g. The new jars are only 95g instead of the 100g they've been since this coffee debuted. Such is life. For those who can't find it at a reasonable price, larger branches of Sainsbury's are your friend. For reference, the price should be about £4.50 for a jar - or £3 if you're lucky enough to catch it on a promo. And for those complaining of bitterness: you're not letting the water go off the boil long enough. Once you've boiled the kettle, leave it for a minute or two before pouring the water onto the granules, otherwise you'll scald it and make it bitter. The water should be "hot" but not boiling. That's true of all instants. It's not a tea-bag.

Really good strong coffee with a fruity tang.
This coffee gave a real kick to my tastebuds, with its pronounced taste and fruity tang, just like it says on the jar. My tingling tongue was practically lolling, curling and twisting in my mouth as its distinctive flavour raced in frenetic harmony with my tastebuds. It had every drop that reached the tongue literally running rings around the buds, which reacted like the waving and cheering of the masses before the pope or at a pop concert. This coffee did not just trip over my tongue - although words of knowledge of good and evil were literally tripping off the tip of my tongue - it did a double barrel roll followed by a triple backflip somersault and concluded with a perfectly flawless pirrhouette as it danced a salsa down my slavering, thirsty throat. Delish!

Very bland lacks coffee flavour
I love the Alta Rica so was intrigued to try. I would most definitely avoid this one, very reminiscent of horlicks, no coffee taste & bland.
