Powerful Natural Laxative!
Do you research and don't over-do it!!Generally used for people with IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome) or before a colonoscopy to help you eliminate your bowels within a time frame of 10-12 hours. Typically this process takes 24-48 hours to "clear" yourself. My personal review of this product is, Woah! this is some powerful stuff. Senna's active constituents are Sennosides which act as a powerful natural laxative. I took this stuff before work the night before and oh boy what a mistake! While this stuff works and if completely effective, brace yourself if you take anything more than less than a half of a tablespoon. I didn't do this. I put it into a green smoothie and used about 2 tablespoons. I was in pain the next day using the bathroom probably 8 times and while the pain would subside for about an hour in between, the second I had some water, the pain would come right back. Besides all the pain, I can't deny that this stuff works. The taste by itself is super bitter but when mixed into my smoothie, I couldn't even taste it. All in all, I would recommend this product and buy it again but seeing as how I bought a pound of it, with how little the serving size it, it's going to take me quite a while to go through it.

Semi Permanent Golden Hair
Better than Cassia for hair. This is in the same family as Cassia obovata but it is better and Cheaper. They both contain chysophanic acid which it what dyes the hair golden but this has more of it. More bang for you book. You have to have light hair or grey hair to get the golden effect. If you have medium Brown you may get golden highlights that you can see outside on a sunny day. Mix with water and just a little vinegar or lemon juice because acid causes a stronger dye release. It should be consistency of yogurt or mayonaise. Let it sit for about 4 hours than apply. Leave it on your hair anywhere from about 2 hours to 8 hours.

ONLY deducting for taste
This WORKS! It certainly does not taste good at all. But I will take a little bit of orange juice with 2 spoons and I mix it with my immersion blender to make sure it mixes well and I just gulp it down. It’s definitely coming out the next morning 100% of the time.

A vital pantry item for slow bowels
It is VERY nice to be able to purchase pure, powdered senna in a 1 lb.bag from Starwest. I hope they never discontinue this. For those who have chronic constipation that is entirely unaffected by a raw, high fiber diet, magnesium, good hydration, et cetera, et cetera, et cetera, this is irreplaceable! Because buying little over-the-counter senokrit tablets, and frivolous natural laxatives in cute little 30-ct bottles sadly doesn't even begin to put a dent in the, ahem, above-mentioned issue! The taste of this herb is not pleasant but it is easily masked by blending into a smoothie, soup, or about any other food. I only get cramping or scary nausea if I take too much and you quickly learn your ideal dose. Don't take it all the time because you will become immune even to this potent of stuff and then you're up s*** creek, minus the needed s***. I am embarrassed to say that after a year, I can take 1-2 tablespoons and still not be affected by this pure senna (& again, that's on 80% fruit and vegetable, high fiber & water content diet with A LOT of bulk calories to boot!), so: try to use as little as possible to avoid immunity to it's action!

Made Me Nauseous
I bought 2 bags initially, I only tried the product twice and each time I was totally nauseous for 2-3 hours within 30 minutes of taking it. I have been using senna powder for years (other brand names) and have never reacted like this. I was discouraged from using it again so I threw away both bags. I recently decided to order a 3rd bag and attempt it again. I thought maybe I got a bad batch the other time. The same thing happened, so I threw the product in the trash! I’m curious if anyone else has experienced this same problem with this brand. I went back to the two other brands I most often use.

Use it to color your hair golden blond
Golden blond hair color, organic and healthy.... I use this product as a hair color... mix it up with warm water to a yogurt consistency, cover and let stand overnight. Then apply liberally to hair, use it like mud, cover hair well. Then put processing cap on or wrap with plastic wrap, add a towel for warmth, and leave on a couple hours. Rinse out.The result will be a healthy, gorgeous golden silky blond... at least going over gray/white hair. It is equally good over any hair color as a conditioner and to add gold highlights. It will last through several shampoos and then gradually fade. Much better for you than the toxic chemicals usually used to color hair. Try it.
