Fantastically well built luggage. I look forward to many years of use.

It's made by the makers of the original Swiss Army Knife and has features to prove it. I'd have given it five stars but I have some reservations about the large sized model. First it's a bit heavy , even when empty. This could be a good thing as it's durable. Second It took me almost a half hour to figure out how to open the zippers. Once I did it was easy but the instructions weren't clear. There are various compartments inside. A good thing for assisting in initial packing and later in keeping laundry separate from clean cloths. The ID card is hidden away in a slide out compartment and contains a pen and a tool to replace sim cards.Although I never did find the built in USB cable, while looking for it I found addition instructions in an inner pocket. for the Access Lock Combination Recovery Program and the Swiss Tracker Bag Tracking Program. As the built in USB requires an optional power pack I stopped looking for it.. The double wheels are extremely stable. If you need a large travel bag you can't go wrong with this one. Most people I suspect would be happier with the middle sized model.

…and that will occur for trips of five days or more, particularly in the winter and/or for business. This suitcase should be ideal. As advertised, it is made by the same Swiss folks that make the Swiss knife. The suitcase is quality made of a hard plastic called “virgin polycarbonate,” strong for the relatively light weight, considering its size, of 11.22 lbs. / 5.09 kg. It opens into two equal sides. On one side, there is the cross straps to hold the clothes into place, and four small zipper pockets. On the other side, there are three layered compartments, one upon the other, with a zipper for each. There is a hard rubber carry handle built-in, and the retractable handle for pulling the suitcase on its wheels, of which there are eight, two on each corner. The wheels are often the first item to break on a suitcase, and these seem to be a durable and well-made as possible. The instructions are very well-written and thorough, always a key point by which I judge a product. For example, the instructions for setting the combination lock. There is also a special “TSA” override lock, so those folks don’t decide to tear up your suitcase trying to get in. At their website, you can register your combination for the lock, in case you ever forget it. And there is a special RF tracking device, so that if your suitcase is lost, it can be retrieved. I felt it was a bit unclear how that would actually work. Overall, I detected no deficiencies, and can think of no improvements I would recommend. It even comes with a white dustcover for long term storage. The only current problem: being able to take that week plus vacation so that I can use it. Overall, 5-stars.

This suitcase is amazing. I have to travel more than I'd like, and that means a fair amount of wear and tear of my bags. When it comes to suitcases the first things I looks at are the zippers, the seams and the handle. On the Lexicon they are all very high quality. The case itself is covered in a soft plastic that should prove to be very rugged, I'm sure it will get beat to death but should prove to very rugged and won't rip or tear where fabric would. The zippers are very high quality. The locking mechanism is nice and easy to reset once you find the card hidden in the case. As TSA locks are mostly useless anyways it is nice to be able to have a lock built into your case with a TSA masterkey over ride. The handle seems very sturdy and well mounted but time will tell. The wheels are well placed, stable and roll well. The hidden USB port is pretty neat, though you need a battery pack to power it. That said for long overseas trips I can see where it would prove super useful for recharging your electronics during layovers as well as charge ups waiting at airports for check ins. Space inside is huge and the layout is well thought out. It makes packing easy and clothing easy to get to. You don't need to unpack everything to get to a single item due to the clam-shell design. I use suitcases until they literally fall apart usually and I expect to use this one for decades to come.

This Victorinox Lexicon Hardside travel case is well designed and features the best wheels I've ever seen on a piece of luggage. Broken wheels are all too common and probably the most frustrating problem when traveling. While it's a hard side case, the material is actually pliable and "soft", not like a Pelican case, however it's strong and robust, making the case surprisingly lightweight for its size. The Zippers are top quality as are the handles. The case splits in half and opens to expose two same sized compartments. Nice stitching, zippers and straps are found inside. The Lock is unique and takes a minute to figure out how to position the zipper handles so they click into place. After you do it once, you'll have no problem. The Hidden ID card compartment is a nice touch as is the SIMM card tool and USB port. You will need to purchase a USB battery pack to power the USB port. An interesting feature that I'm not sure of the application, but we'll see. Also comes with a nice soft cover for storing the case during the off season. The only downside to this case is that my wife can pack even more clothes when we travel. A well made case that is sure to last. Make the investment in this quality piece of luggage and you will not be disappointed.
