Wish the outline stayed...
Got this for my 5 year old daughter for Christmas. She loved it! Only complaint is the outline for the pictures would rub off with the black. So most of her pictures looked like blobs of bright colors.

Not the best
The problem with this scratch book is that at least half of the sheets just have a solid background under the scratch off image, or the pattern underneath does not match the scratch pattern. Some pages are better. So… a young kid would be especially disappointed as they are scratching that there is no image underneath! Even I did not find it as enjoyable as other brands of scratch books. I wouldn’t buy again.

Delighted six year old!
We had less success with a different ALEX product, but this one is LOVED by our grandchild. It is high quality and engaging fun. For us old folk who had the occasional black scratch paper in elementary school and loved it, know that it remains every bit as magical these days, and moreso in this well made, solid booklet form. Thank you. PS Grandchild takes it with her everywhere she goes. Parents love it too.

My daughter got one for her birthday, so of course my son had to have one too. They both really love these books.

Mom tip: do this outside and save a cleanup headache
Really fun, but I should have known how messy it would get! Little black spots and film get stuck to any surface you’re working on. Great for an outdoor craft though where you don’t need to care about clean up or things getting everywhere.
