Perfect replacement for 30 year old Blum 1/2" Overlay Hinges (not soft close)
Our 30 yr old cabinets started not opening and closing properly and it was obvious the old Blum hinges were breaking down. They are mostly nickeled metal but have plastic inserts for the rotation range. You have to be really careful selecting the hinges that mount the same way as your existing ones. Some screw onto the face (exterior side) of the cupboard frame, and others like these screw onto the inside edge of the frame.I was a bit anxious whether the hinge to edge distances were correct or not but these are perfectly compatible with the non-Blumotion (soft close) version of the Blum 1/2' Overlay. I removed the olde hinges, screwed these onto the doors using the exact same two screw holes. However, the old hinges had two screws securing hinge to the cabinet frame and this model uses one large screw. So I carefully measured each set of two holes on the fram and drilled another 1/8" hole exactly between them. Oddly some of the old hinges had two holes 1-1/2" apart and others at 1-3/8" apart. But regardless, by centering the new drill hole in the center between the old holes the hinges went on perfectly. Measure every hinge and mark accordingly to be sure. Best to use a ruler that has marked increments down to 1/16".It is easiest to do this with a helper to have the door held while the hinge screws are driven into the cabinet frame (attaching door to frame). Work together to remove doors (we did one or two at a time), then one person can be removing old hinges and attaching new hinges to the door while the other person is measuring and drilling the new holes on the cabinet frame. Then both can work together to hold the door steady and attach the hinges to cabinet frame. The hinges have small adjustments for (A) moving the door away from the frame and also (B) away from the hinge. I did not need either adjust for single doors. But for doors that close together (doubles) I had to back the screw towards the middle of the hinge all the way out usually to allow to the doors to close together without binding. I suspect older doors have swelled a bit and may have banged loose a bit so need more room to close properly. The hinge attaches to the frame with slotted holes and one screw so there can be some adjustment up and down as well for matching heights of double doors. These hinges work really well. You can give the door a good push to close and it slows down and then very gently oozes to a close. One warning though. When opening to 90* they kind of spring open further to the full 105*. So if the door opens into a corner it will bang loudly against the opposing door/wall. In this case be sure to get the Blum COMPACT hinge restrictors (about five dollars per 20 or so) for each hinge. The restrictors only allow the hinge to open to 87* which still allows full access to the cupboard but absolutely will not bang into corner cabinet or wall. These soft close hinges have a made a huge difference for us. No more banging cabinet/cupboard doors! Saves wear and tear on the cabinet doors and so quiet. I will suggest that if you need to replace only a couple of worn out door's hinges, to consider upgrading ALL your cabinet doors in that area with the same type of hinge. We just upgraded the broken hinges/doors but then we got used to giving them a good push to close and when it turns out to be one of the doors with older style hinges they go BANG. Now I have all the door hinges upgrade to these Blumotion soft close style and the kitchen so much quieter and I don't cringe hearing bangs and thinking what damage is eventually done to the door.

Almost perfect
Almost? It would be perfect but for the hinge intruding about 3/8 - 1/2 in into the cabinet from the mounting point. the original Aristokraft hinge sat nearly flush but they were 16 years old and got tired of pulling the doors closed. I looked at many types and didn't measure the overlay, but took a guess from the photos and these were the correct size I needed after I learned what an overlay meant after I bought em.I tried these and the Amerock style, but they were not soft close, and ended up returning them due to them being huge as the hinge itself wasn't flat like the photo, but stuck up almost an inch into the door opening even though they were supposedly the same 1/2 inch as these. The soft close feature works well, but for lighter weight doors or skinnier ones it is better to switch both to the "off" position. For mine I have 1 on and 1 off to help facilitate it closing as they are still stiff and close extremely slow if if you turn them all to on.Overall they work great, and the small bit of sticking out inwards the cabinet is not a concern when these are multiway adjustable whereas the old ones were not and hence the needed extra size. That is why it doesn't get dinged a star as it makes up for it in easy of installation and functionality. And if you are replacing hinges, get the ones without screws and save the money, as the old screws work just fine and the new screws were just a little bit longer than the old ones and I don't see a need to change something that was already working just fine at holding things in place.

Blum delivers
Blum delivers again. A solid, reliable product. It's a fairly simple upgrade but the result just changes the overall mood in a busy home kitchen. Eliminating the squeaks and slams alone is life changing. Tip: If you are upgrading from your basic builder-grade cabinet hinges, keep in mind that the Blum replacement will have a noticeably thicker mount. If you have pull-out or roll-out shelving solutions in your cabinets, shimming them might be required so they will clear the new hinges on the way out. Take the time to carefully review the specs Blum provides in their on-line PDF so you know what to expect. If you don't have any of the aforementioned solutions, other than some adjustments here and there, these hinges are pretty much plug and play. Highly recommended. Enjoy!

good quality hinges at a good price
I had bought some Blum hinges at a local high-end lumber yard to replace some 25-year Blum hinges that had broken down (no longer self-closing). The new hinges had TWO pairs of prongs, designed to sandwich a standard 3/4" face frame edge between them. This was actually a problem for some of the areas I was replacing hinges, since the rear sets of prongs were going to interfere with installation in some of the locations, and I was going to have to go to a lot of trouble to make things work. So, I was extremely happy to discover that these hinges ordered through Amazon were the same I had gotten in the lumber-yard, EXCEPT that they lack those interfering rear pair of prongs. I don't think this significantly decreases their functionality, and it sure made my life easier -- and other than this difference, the hinges seem identical good quality Blum. Ended up buying three batches of 20 hinges, and they've been great.

So cool!
Fit my Euro hinge doors perfectly. Bought the screws but never needed them as the old screw worked just as well. They open a little past 90 degrees, Great adjustability. I only wish they would start to self close a little sooner when you push the doors. Not a deal breaker at all. And they close so slow and quiet it is like magic.Add a little rubber button and you never will hear a thing. Worth the extra money for a name brand.

Nice hinges
Good hinges. I have used them a lot and I like the slow close feature. I also like that that you can turn the feature on and off. I also like that they open a little wider then others I have used.

Fantastic hinges!
These are excellent, quality hinges. I have bought two sets for my kitchen and all work beautifully. The price really seems to fluctuate drastically, but I was able to wait until it dropped to the $60 to $80 range. I am very pleased with them and highly recommend them.
