Looks pricey but is a great size with multiple uses
My son now goes on school trips and is reuqired to take packed lunch. as he is only 6 a large bag with added boxes and cool packs is just too heavy. This is ideal as you cn pack a lunch and pop in waterproofs and a jumper. Ideal size. I had bought a couple of backpacks before but they were false economy as they just didn't do the job. this fits the bill nicely.It is a good fit, padded and just the right size. I am really pleased with this.

Perfect sized bag for my kindergarten-er. This fits: a school diary/small notebook, a light jacket, a box of lunch, a box of breakfast, a small snack container (think fruit/nuts) and a bottle water with a spare slot in front to add a thin book to read with friends on the bus. It's not too big (ergonomically right for that age), yet big enough to take all the food for a long day. And the quality, design & colors are wonderful.

Great bag.
My son was thrilled when this arrived and does exactly what I wanted it to do. It is bigger than the preschool bags and gets everything in there for kindergarten. I like all the extra padding to keep the pressure of little backs.

Really nice backpack
Great backpack for younger kids, or for sports. We bought this for our son in first grade. It does fit his red folder that comes home daily, and can hold his lunch bag or a few books. It is barely bigger than the folder so it's not a tall backpack for larger binders, or older kids. Love the cooler section for his water bottle! He will use it this summer for daily soccer camp to keep his snacks and lunch cold. Really like that it is fitted for his size and not for an adult - like so many kids' backpacks are. This one really sits on his back the right way and doesn't force him to lean over.

Designed for pre-school kids, not big enough for any grades older.
Super cute, but too small. I gave 4 stars because it is not Obersee's fault that it is too small for my needs, as they themselves advertise it as a "pre-school" backpack. I could not give 5 stars because I have no way of know how well built these are and how they would hold up.

Sizing is good for my 5 yr old, but seam in cooler section already torn after less than 2 months of use
We probably wouldn't order this backpack again. It is a great design, but poorly constructed. The seam around the edge of the cooler lunch section is torn after less than 2 months of use. The section is used daily for my son's lunch, but that's it. There hasn't been excessive use. I'm disappointed considering the price.

Great for my 2.5 year old! The little lunch bag is a great bonus also! Perfect size and very comfortable for him. Very Sturdy and great design!

Made it through a school year!
Bought this for my Kindergartner. The size was just ok. Does not hold binders and folders are a tight fit. it is small. The bottom started to deteriorate and the straps would come loose throughout the day. My son loves soccer and his favorite color is orange. For those reasons I do like it a lot as that is a combination you can't find often. The zipper also did make it through the year and we did have to trash it. It did hold up for one school year though so I suppose that is a plus. The price was decent for the product. I wouldn't recommend it, but I don't NOT recommend it either. If this is a design you are looking for, then go for it. You will get the year out of it, which is in the end what you are looking for as most kids want a new bag with school anyway. I do want to also point out that the soccer ball design never faded or chipped, so again, another plus.

Great backpack, suits my 5 year old son's needs at the moment.
This is an all around, great backpack. I bought this for my 5 year old to carry an extra change of clothes, snacks, etc. while he attended Kinder Camp. I love the cooler in the front pocket. Very convenient and it does keep his drinks, yogurt and other items cold for at least a few hours, which was long enough between leaving our house and by the time he had snack time and lunch at school.It is great for going out for a day to carry snacks, clothes, etc. The size is the right size for his needs at the moment, but when he starts kindergarten I will need to buy him a bigger backpack as his school requires a full sized backpack for kindergarten. While this backpack is a decent size (it fits him perfectly), I do not see it being big enough unfortunately to carry a change of clothes, snack, lunch and any materials he will also need to be bringing home with him from school. It may fit but am guessing it would be quite cramped and a tight fit. Pretty disappointed in that as I honestly love this backpack and wish it was just a little bigger.I gave this backpack 5 stars because it has suited the purpose I bought it for. No complaints really. If you are looking for a nice backpack to fit your child well, carry some snacks, an extra change of clothes (including shoes), wipes and some other items, I highly recommend this product. But if you need a backpack for a child who is going to need to be carrying all these things along with school materials ( binder, books, folders, etc.) you may want to move up to a bigger backpack for your child to be on the safe side. But I am very pleased with this purchase, even if it ends up being temporary.
