Great cup of coffee
Nice looking to have on the stove top. Brew time takes a little getting used to but makes a great cup of coffee. Pretty easy to use. Cleans up quick

Absolutely Wonderful 10 Stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I got tired of my keurig years ago. Too hard to clean & coffee no longer tastes right. Did not enjoy a French press because I need more coffee & it took too much time for each cup,. I went to the old automatic drip that people used for years. The coffee taste started changing on it and it was hard to clean as well. I was afraid of black mold, even though I cleaned with vinegar, it just didn’t taste right. I remember before the automatic drips came in my mom used to use an old percolator on the stove And I remember the smell of that coffee and the taste was always so fresh so yep this is what I bought an updated version of the old metal percolator as they were called and man do I love love love it so easy to clean thoroughly no worry of black mold or any mold growing in the machine You set it on the burner and you can percolate it is strong or as weak as you want, it’s wonderful. I get this 10 stars if I could fabulous fabulous, and I like it being glass cause I can measure the strength of it by the darkness of the coffee. Buy it and try it. It’s worth every penny if you want a really good fresh cup of coffee.

Decent glass percolator
I bought the Medelco 8-cup glass stovetop percolator 5 years, 3 months ago. I have used it to boil only water and always used the metal-wire trivet on my electric-coil burner. I've never used it as a percolator, having removed the plastic stem and coffee basket part. However, I boiled the glass percolator dry on a high setting at least a dozen times. The plastic lid melted and became unusable a few years ago, but that was no great loss to me--I just used a small stainless steel lid thereafter. Even with the boiling dry at least a dozen times, the glass never cracked until a few days ago. So I deem the failure of the glass to be my fault. Overall, I got a lot of use out of this inexpensive glass percolator/pot for a long time. I never needed to wash it (after all, I only boiled water in it). For mineral build-up inside the pot, I used just a white vinegar and water solution (2:1 ratio), heated slightly, and left this warm solution to sit for about 30 minutes. Finally, I rinsed with cool water--the minerals were gone and the glass was clear again. The rationale for my 4-star rating: Pros: The glass is sturdy, but I was always careful not to bump the glass against anything hard (like a pot/pan or the side of the sink). The design of the handle is ergonomic and never came loose. The glass is easy to clean with vinegar and water solution. Using a glass container means no carcinogenic chemicals leaching into the hot water, as happens with metal and plastic kettles/pots. Low $15 price. Cons: Plastic lid melts quite easily (my first unit had this problem). Percolator stem and coffee basket are made out of plastic (although I never used these parts). I am ordering a second, new unit to replace the cracked glass percolator that I've had for 5 years. I much prefer the design of this glass percolator to the Medelco 12-Cup Glass Stovetop Whistling Kettle Medelco 12-Cup Glass Stovetop Whistling Kettle . Reviewers of the whistling glass kettle have said that the handle gets hot, it's difficult to pour all of the boiling water out of the kettle with a risk of steam burns to the hand, and the whistling lid doesn't actually whistle for many of the reviewers. As for the glass percolator, the handle does not get hot, and the placement and design of the handle lets one pour all of the hot water out with ease, without risk of steam burns to the hand.

Makes great coffee, a must have
I’m so glad I finally found this style coffee pot. I had one for years & was So upset when it broke 15-20 yrs ago & couldn’t be replace . After drip coffee machine came out on the market the companies Stopped selling percolators. I guess they figured everyone would like the drip coffee 🤷♀️. So I had No choice but to drink the drip coffee🥴. I’ve been looking everywhere for Years to buy a new percolated coffee pot so I was ecstatic when I found this coffee pot! The glass is not to thin, it’s also nice & sturdy. The only thing I don’t like is the guts in it & the dome on top of the lid, it’s all plastic. My old glass percolating coffee pot had the metal inside & glass dome on top of lid. Other then that I love my coffee pot, coffee is great tasting & hot like it should be😊. I buy coffee beans & grind my coffee fresh everyday ( the only way to go🙂). I recommend this coffee pot if you’ve never made percolator coffee before, it’s easy to see through so you know when to turn off. I like strong coffee so I perk my coffee for at least three to 5 minutes on low. It’s just as easy as filling a drip coffee maker. I love my percolator and will never go back to drip coffee again😁!

Good pot of coffee
My first pot had a loose handle, so AI had to return it for a replacement. My second pot is fine. If you use a fine grind coffee I suggest using a filter because the fine grounds when loading the basket flows through the holes and will leave your counter dotted with the grounds., otherwise I will start grinding myself. I have found that using a small clean paint brush to remove grounds from the basket and rinse. It makes for a good pot of coffee for me and easy to clean.

Easy to use.
It works great. I have to use heat a little higher on my glass top on smaller burner. I didn't get filter for this, yet not much grounds drop down. That's a plus for me. Not heavy at all. Easy to clean. To tall for top rack in dishwasher, so I hand wash it.

Not worth buying the 2 suggested filters
The percolator it self is great, I would not recommend buying the 2 suggested filters ( disk filter and basket filter), neither one fits this percolator. On the disk filter, you have to cut and make the center hole bigger for it to slide down the stem, even then, it doesn't cover the basket and you'll have coffee grounds in your coffee. With the basket filter, it's too small and it doesn't sit all the way down, the actual lid of the percolator will just be sitting there instead of it locking in place, you'll have to hold on to the lid when pouring your coffee or remove the basket (be careful, it's hot) so you don't make a mess making your coffee. You're better off buying the 1 to 4 cups filter, and punch a hole in the middle, no coffee grounds and sits perfectly in the basket. "Not worth buying the 2 suggested filters".

Alright everyone, I'm not a coffee "expert" per say, however, most complaints about this product I read, were clearly people that have no idea how a perculator works. 1) COARSE grind coffee. You don't arguably need any type of filters. Use as is. 2) You may get "sediment" and/ or oils in your coffee. Ummm.... ya thats called flavourful and full bodied coffee the way any coffee expert will tell ya. Don't like a little bit of sediment? Then buy the filters and use a fine grind. 3) I found best method is once the perculator comes to a fast "perk" leave for aprx 1 min, then turn dial on stove all the way down to low or 1. Leave for aprx 3-5 min. Excellent coffee. 4) remove the basket/ stem etc after the 3-5 min slow perk. If you leave in there, coffee will just keep getting stronger and probably why some complain about "warping" ya... cause you don't leave it in there on the stove as you drink the coffee! I grind my own beans. Home grinder would be considered "coarse". Perculator is usually considered a stronger coffee so experiment. I have had "zero" issues with plastic melting or warping. Clearly people also don't know step 4! Immediately before serving...remove the filter and basket.

I bought this to replace an old 1940's glass percolator, which everyone loved. We could not find a glass insert so reluctantly bought this one with plastic basket. But I was impressed with how well it perks on the stove. And it works well with both fine grind or coarse grind coffee. Good value for the money! I was also surprised that it didn't break during shipping because it was simply shipped in a cardboard box with no packing around it. Tempered glass must be the key!
