Hyundai 5.8kW / 7.5kVA* Diesel Powered Multi-Phase Generator 230v & 400v Max Power Three Phase/Single Phase, With Long Run Time

We bought this as a stand by generator for the house and my office. Being diesel it runs a long time on a tank and is powerful enough to run the whole house [fridges central heating tv's etc] you can even boil a kettle. It simple straightforward and has a remote start facility- just need an electrician to wire in a changeover switch. A really good purchase- HIGHLY RECOMENDED

Absolutely not fit for purpose. Noisey, lasted 3 months one single house build before bearings went on engine. Tried to blame not being serviced every 100 hours (2 weeks) after a lot of hassle they repaired it only to come back even noisier.

Used several times with no problems. Difficult to change oil because of access. Fuel level meter not accurate.

I have several generators already but wanted a more powerful house backup generator. This is a well-made, solid 5.2kW generator, worked first time (just need to fill with diesel; it already had oil added but do check!). However, it is very large, wheels help though small, and - main problem - it is extremely noisy. So much so that I'm selling it, as it is very very loud and would get neighbour complaints within minutes. Having it on overnight just isn't an option. It doesn't idle but remains on full throttle, unlike a Honda which has a variable throttle depending on power draw. End result, I bought a Honda EU65 to replace it, which is much smaller, beautifully engineered and MUCH QUIETER, to the point of really not loud at all. My learning is- buy the best you can, it's worth the money, and nothing beats Honda for generators (I have two now). Nevertheless, if used in a noisy environment like a funfair, this Hyundai would be a cheaper option to consider, and certainly works fine. Just use a long cable! It is really unfortunate that this generator is branded 'silent'. Mis-selling IMO, though I guess I should have known better, and certainly do now. The seller wouldn't take it back either.

The generator is no longer working only had it for 2 weeks and it just stop working for no response. A waste of £1.3k and not a silent one at all

Decent generator at a reasonable price,bear in mind it is a diesel so if you are looking for something super silent at this price you will be looking for something that doesn,t exist.

Arrived with defective switch, also was not as advertised on the add, the exhaust was different and cannot be fitted with an extension, the seller does not respond to resolve the issues, very poor after sales service, had to do a charge back to relsove
