Q: How do these look on a black chalk board?

They look great on sidewalk so should look just as good on black chalkboard.

Q: how wide is the chalk?

From what I remember they are about 1 inch wide. The are fairly large chalks.

Q: What are your washing instructions for removing this from clothing? My child wrote more on her clothes then the sidewalk..

I don't know the official guidelines. My kids wet the chalk they had used on our sidewalk. My toddler sat in the wet chaulk. We washed how I normally would and it came out thankfully. Good luck.
