Hohner Special 20 C, One Size

I’ve been playing this for well over a year now. It really is a joy to use. It sounds wonderful and sits in the hand perfectly. Although I have only owned a couple of harmonicas, the quality of build seems 2nd to none. I have found it very easy to bend notes. I’m very happy with my harmonica and would highly recommend to others.

I have 2 other Hohner harmonicas. Both are good. I bought a Super Chromonica through Warehouse Deals as an upgrade from a £1 diatonic harmonica I bought from a gift shop in Skegness many years ago which I started to play a few months back. The chromatic harmonica had a lovely sound even though I ordered a C and got a G and one of the blowholes wouldn't work until I had filled out the Amazon return form... But that's a different harmonica. I bought this Special 20 and a Rocket to test them out. I have to say I'm very pleased with both purchases. Hohner harmonicas seam to be easy to use. They slide along well and are light to blow and draw. They all have given me a good number of pleasurable hours. Based on the 3 that I have used I do recommend Hohner brand harmonicas. The Chromonica I should have bought new but then that's the chance we take with Warehouse Deals.

I can barely play a note but my skill level shouldn’t reflect on this lovely harmonica. It seems well built, good quality and sounds good in the right hands.

Excellent little harmonica, I will certainly purchase more in different Keys, recommended by most pro's as the default starter harmonica, this piece of low maintenance, great sounding german engineering will have you impressed from the get go. Well packaged, tidy plastic storage case, good enough to perform with on a stage if you've got the talent. Which I don't. But I have a nice sounding harmonica and am practicing daily.

This harmonica had a good tone and a pleasant warm sound. So far using it i have found that the blow holes are quite durable and also comfortable to blow into. They are slightly out of tune now but maybe thats just my playing. Overall, very good.

OK, I'm a novice. My father used to play a Hohner Marine Band when I was a kid and I always had an inkling that one day I would like to be as good as he was. After viewing lots of reviews and tutorials on You tube I opted for hohners 'Special 20' as it has a plastic comb and is not affected by swelling or warping as wooden combs can be so the plates stay tightly sealed to the comb so as not to leak air whilst playing. It is worth looking at 'Sonnyboys' series of harmonica reviews and demos of all the harps they sell - of course the 'Special 20' is highly recommended. I was delighted to see that the 'Special 20' is hand made in Germany and not China as some are. It also comes in a rugged custom fit plastic case to keep it safe and clean. As a foot note I must state that the service from the merchant 'Sonnyboys music store' was outstanding! After my first harmonica was swiped out of the package by our glorious Royal Mail, they dispatched me a replacement that was received less than 24 hours later.

Build quality excellent and wonderful melodious smooth tones. Great value at the price.

Just purchased one of these in C. Its absolutley fantastic! I was shocked to find every note easy to blow n draw even 2 draw! Im well chuffed adding it to my collection...but this will get played every day! I can highly recomend the 'Special 20' to anyone lookin for a good harp to buy!

This is a great little instrument. I love it's feel and tone as started to learn.

What a great harmonica for a beginner or a seasoned player! My granddaughter loved this gift and the bonus lessons were a huge hit! The sound is excellent, it’s easy to play and the quality is exceptional. I highly recommend this harmonica for anyone looking for one for themselves or to give as a gift, you can’t go wrong!

Muy buena armónica para principiantes y no tan principiantes, ya que es muy cómoda para hacer sonar las notas y no es nada dura, por lo que los bends los puedes sacar sin apenas dificultad. Desliza bien entre los labios aunque el peine sea de plástico. El sonido que produce una vez que la dominas un poco es muy bueno y encaja bien para diferentes géneros musicales. Si la cuidas bien, tienes armónica para rato por lo que he dado a entender antes, que su sonido es lo suficientemente bueno que no suena a armónica de aprendizaje. Aparte que de precio está muy bien. La próxima será la D para blusear en La con mi guitarra :D
