OtterBox iPhone XR Defender Series Case - Black

It’s a great phone case. It fits my IPhone XR perfectly. It was easy to put on and the price was better than buying it from the phone store. I love that it clips on my belt and it’s a heavy duty case. I work outside and this case definitely protects my phone, I recommend it.

Let’s just cut straight to the chase. I dropped my phone before I got this case, cracked the back glass on my Xr, luckily it was just fractured, 1 crack. big crack. But just 1. I immediately ordered this case because it had a rotating belt clip, and a 3 part case, with the clip housing acting as another layer of protection. Now, I’ve since broken the clip, reordered, and broken the clip again (both times my fault, the clip is amazing when your not ripping it off on steel racks), so I’ve taken it as a sign to stop wearing the clip, but the performance of the case alone, has sold me for all future phones. I run NO screen protector with this case, and I feel just fine. I’ve dropped this thing so many times I’ve lost count, and I’ve dropped it face down multiple times. The raised beveled edged combined with the impact shell, have always saved this phone. Like I’d say there was 2-3 time that my phone SHOULD have been broken or at least cracked, and to my surprise, it’s unscathed. I take it out of the case some times to admire the single crack that hasn’t moved an inch since I got it. And that’s the other crazy part, all of those impacts, were after the phone was already damaged. If you know glass, that’s pretty impressive impact protection for cracked back glass to not progress. This thing is legit, and if you have a screen protector, you’re safer than safe. Highly recommend if you’re still unfortunate enough to be rocking an iPhone X, but they have all the sizes, so it’s not an issue anyway. I can personally attest to the quality of the X case 100%, and if their other products are made to the same quality, then you have no worries. I always love finding actually good, strong products on amazon.

I just bought the DEFENDER SERIES in an effort to finally try out Otterbox. This is for my iPhone XR and due to planned obsolescence, I'm outdated. But, I needed a new case as the old one was falling apart and as a result, these cases came down to the right price point. Normally, I would buy Speck's CandyShell cases, which are great, slim, profile, that have served me well since the old iPhone days. But, finally I can try an Otterbox without spending bank and it gives me an idea of the quality that Otterbox delivers. It is a bit chunky in comparison of my old Speck case, and it is also bit of work to get the iPhone and out of the case, whereas the Speck just drops in. Either way, I tend to just leave the case on, all the time. The covers for the charging port is rather nice feature, as I've had to deal with dust particles getting this the port. However, the way it is made, we'll see how long it will last. It really is a rather impressive build quality. Sure, as a fairly, normal, every day user, it might be overkill. But, when I'm moving stuff around in the shop, it has a tank like quality. Of course, this case might serve someone who works in much more intense environment and that is who it is marketed too. But, again, I wanted to try Otterbox I like that the belt clip can rotate it and be used as a tilt. Also, it serves to cover screen which is probably better people who work in dust prone environments. However, if you were say, a touring musician and you use your iPhone from presets to your Quad Cortex, or whatever app, and yet you need something durable while you're moving around constantly, this case would also be a good idea. Or, as photographer who is doing mostly landscapes, but it's not water proof. Anywhere you just need protection that goes beyond your average case. Anyway, it's just that the price of these cases are normally in the 50 to 60 dollar range. So, the determination of whether it is worth it or not, is up to you and what you do for a living. I bought mine for $25 bucks, plus tax, which for me is good a price range, especially when you consider the Speck CandyShell case is in that price range. Meaning, if it wasn't in this price range, I would've probably gotten the Speck CandyShell. Just saying. Okay, this review went over the top, but the coffee was good this morning.

Very durable phone case. I did not give 5 stars, because no instructions were with the case. Everything else was perfect.

Bought Defender series to replace 7 year old Otter box that rubber wore out and discontinued. This Defender series looks the same as my old one and fits perfectly with my Apple XR model that survived numerous drops. Good protection though a little difficult to put together over phone with out watching video on line. The rubber plug on my old model covering charge port did break off from constant opening and closing. Hope this one lasts longer but did not affect drop protection.

I have an older phone. I had completely broken the original otterbox after years of abuse!!! A new one fit perfectly.

These are the best phone cases for a person who is hard on their phones. My husband works in construction and is always dropping his phone from all heights.. Plus he has a bad habit of falling asleep with his phone in his hand at the edge of the bed. He usually wakes up with a jolt when his phone falls to the floor. I would definitely buy one of these again. This case has saved us hundreds in phone replacement costs

It’s my fourth or fifth Otterbox Defender case. I love them, not cheap by far, but they look so cool and really are the best protective and stylish case out there. I’d highly recommend if you don’t mind paying for it.

This is the 2nd one I have bought. First one I caught it badly whilst on belt and it snapped in half. I then bought a Vena model but it was very poor in protection and visually in comparison hence re-buying.
