I liked this cutter with 5 stars for the large ring gauge size. My first Zykar lighter with magnetic attached cutter suspiciously disappeared. Years later I purchased the same lighter cutter sold separately online and Zykar had increased the ring gauge size to the more politically correct ring gauge size of 60 compared to the original cutter size of 54 ring gauge. What’s not to like about a Zykar 60 ring gauge cutter size?

I want to start off by saying I have been using Xikar cutters for years, and they are hard to beat. I currently have one of their classic teardrop shaped cutters and love it - it fits nicely in the hand, springs hold the double guillotine blades open to allow you to easily insert the cap of the cigar, maximizing your chances for getting a perfect cut. Unfortunately, the current trend of fatter cigars is rendering my beloved cutter almost useless since the max I can manage to (just barely) get a decent full cut on, is about a 60. I searched high and low for another Xikar teardrop cutter that could handle larger ring gauges, but at the time of purchase, this product appeared to be the only real option.Unlike my teardrop cutter, this cutter is only a single bladed guillotine, which a cutter doesn't necessarily have to be double guillotine to be decent, but it's a nice feature to have.My real complaint about this cutter, and the reason I only gave it three stars, is when it's in the open position, there is nothing to hold the blades apart. Gravity is constantly trying to close the blades while you are fumbling about trying to insert the cap of the cigar. Even if you hold it completely in a horizontal position, the amount of pressure your fingers have to exert to keep it from slipping out of your grasp is enough to start pushing the blades together and narrowing the opening. In my opinion, if the blades fit more snugly, were spring loaded (like the teardrop), or it had loops on one or both ends for your fingers to hold it open, it would have been a much more solid design... and far less annoying. disappointingThis cutter is very thin and attractive and has a heavy, solid feel to it. It will indeed cut larger ring gauge cigars, but it's design is just not up to par with what I would expect from the legendary Xikar brand.

I’ve had this cutter for 9 years and have bought them as gifts for friends. It’s the most reliable and easiest to carry out there. I’ve literally cut thousands of cigars with it and it’s still like new. Those complaining about it getting stuck, need to clean it or stop cutting a cigar you licked already. Pair this with the matching lighter and you can’t go wrong.

I've been using Xikar Xi style cutters for years. They are the best in the business. Eventually, I either lose it or break it, which is the case recently. I dropped my last and could not get the release tab to move. I found this slim cutter and really like the size and design. It's almost credit card thin and doesn't have any springs or moving parts to break. Just an extremely sharp blade that you open and close manually. The blade moves freely, but after a couple of months when you cut the cigar it seems to lock in place and is very difficult to open. I would not recommend this cutter. Stick with the standard type Xikar cutter.

It's like 2 credit cards together (thin) .and yes you can keep it in you wallet. But I prefer double guillotine due to my cheap ($5) double guillotine cut better than this single guillotine. But still is a good cutter.

I own XIKAR lighters, punch, and other cutters but did not have the Ultra Slim Cutter. Get it, the perfect cut every time, small light and easy to carry wherever you go and the reason I buy XIKAR is their matchless guarantee ... doesn't work we'll make it right every time for life.
